I have a setup just like this. Three outdoor lights on my house around the garage. They are all controlled by one switch. I want to change that switch out and put a timer in there. Preferably a WiFi enabled deal. So I don't have to remember to turn the fucking lights off every day. What's a product I can use to acheive this?

Id prob just wire a PIR (movement) sensor with adjustable timer outside (assuming switch is inside) on the live line to first light, simple, cheap, adds burglar deterrence and good is. Switches on auto, off after set period. WiFI and stuff, you'll need to check WiFI coverage is good at garage (otherwise +repeater), and existing switch wiring may just be an interrupted live - you gonna need find a neutral from somewhere if you wiring in fancy-dan shit. Also Chinese HaXors will break in and switch on your lightbulbs when you least expecting -tldr, its a meme.

>>1513357
youd need to check they are outdoor rated. They dont fucking look outdoor rated.

I use em in fixtures like OP’s pic and they last fine for years. Plus why would anybody be using those on interior lights?

I used something like this. Programmed it dusk to midnight (it ads 1/2 hour randomness automatically). Even adjusts to DST automatically.

they reasonably covered tho, dunno what OPs actual fixtures are like.
>why indoors
- to save them turning lights on and off, I'd guess. tldr, they a fuck outdoor rated. Dont argue with me either, I'm a professional

You can lead an anon to the oasis, and all - timer also fine, but whats up with a PIR here, JFI?

That’s the same shit I have for my sprinkler system. You gonna have to do some wiring and play around with the timing throughout the year. There has to be a better option.

>>1513389
I don’t think I have ever seen an outdoor light with the bulb and socket completely exposed to the elements.

This is correct. If the trip is off, and you're right, I'll back you up all day.

Yea I do. I just don't want photocells in the fixtures. I had that for a while and what would happen is the light would reflect off the glass and so they would always stay on. Plus I have a motion detector on the same circuit so I'd like that to have power as well

I live in Europe and have installed one in every single apartment building i have worked on. Maybe Americans cant be trusted with nice things because sooner or later some punk will graffiti over it just to cause a minor hassle.

Google for wifi controlled light switch

Make sure it is non-dimming. Lasts longer.
Only drawback is the switch has to be powered. i.e. power runs to the switch and then the lights.

I have home automation using the Wink hub. But my yard light has one of these >>1513357

Connect them to pick related and use an app to control them via your home router.

You can just change out the light switch for one of these.
