They should have a date on them. Its yearly. You also need to check for pinholes and tears every time you put them on.

I met a dude who lost his arms from a pinhole in them so I'd say every fucking time.

I'm a ship supplier, and one of our vessels is requesting these gloves, one of the vendors is offering me these, fabricated in 2014, and as you can see. They haven't been checked since then

Find how top contact the manufacturer. They should send you all the new gloves you need and give you a credit when you send those old ones in. (They are usually done bor need to be recertified evey year)

There's a pinhole in the glove you cant see. You put them on and grab a phrase whatever like you do, and your arm explodes becausethe elections know where the pinhole is even if you don't.

That glove is the opposite of insulating though. A conductive glove with a hole is still functional, an insulating one is not.

A small fraction of one. A kilowatt-hour is a rather large amount of energy to encounter in a short burst. It's equivalent to about two pounds of TNT going off, or a cup of gasoline burning in a big fireball. Regardless of how the energy is used, it doesn't disappear. Those sparks were high voltage but low amperage, and carried little power. If they had carried much power, they would have shone like a lightning bolt or welding arc, and the heat of the arc would have vaporized the gloves.

The boom is insulating, so the moment they grab the cable they and the box they are standing in become the same voltage as the cable with any real current flowing. Until they are connected there's still sparks because they have a small capacitance to the environment, but the sparks don't carry much energy.

Probably enough to give you RF burns though, so best have conductive gear on. No wearable insulation will stop high voltage, no matter how short the spark, keeping the current outside your body with a conductive shell makes it harmless though.

go to 10 minutes for a glove quickchek
The channel BGETEM is the German OSHA for the Energy, textile Electric and Media(Print) industry.
Its actually a insurance company that pays injured workers and bills company's according to the amount if injuries they have.
Its pretty clever because these guys are interested in not losing money so they try to ceep accidents low and make sure to bill company for violations on the same hand there state owned so they pay much better to injured workers than the normal health insurance.
there also interested in making you work again so they spend a considerable amount of money on rehabilitation programs where your health insurance would maybe pay you painkillers.

This.
HV insulating gloves are pretty fragile. Any abrasion will create pinholes. So linemen put oversized leather gloves over them.

>> No.1519034

It's called bare hand work ...

Insulation will do fuck all against the voltages from a high voltage line, the sparks will eat right through it. Keeping the current outside your body is all on the conductive properties of the suit, not the insulating ones.
