What is leaking? The sweat joints or the thermometer connection? I assume this is the hot water side?

Ahhh I see it now lol
>>1770811 definitely the thermometer

Yup, hot water side and at the thermometer. It's not actively dripping but it has increased in size over the years.
Can of worms I hoping to put off until the water heater needs to be changed.

This seems to happen a lot in boiler rooms. I've seen copper oxyidation stalagmites like you wouldn't believe. Definitely a can of worms I would leave alone until you do the water heater.

I feel that. I charged extra for this nightmare spiderweb of "plumbing"

Oh, and it was a mud floor, yes mud, and plywood foundation walls.

Also I'm OP and cant understand which way to rotate shit

well, i have stone in my crawl space. my pump is from the 60s. when i do replace it, i have a manual pump that i want to install as well, how difficult will this be?

Need more info.
If you have a sump basket, it's pretty easy as long as you put a check valve in line and the hose in the sump basket and the other hose outside (I dont know your manual set up so I'm saying goes instead of pipe). Though I would stick with sn automatic sump with a built in float.

why is there a ball valve in a drain what connect the pvc to the cast iron ?

>> No.1772804

The indians who owned this house before me apparently rewired the entire basement with lamp wiring in a drop ceiling. Found a bunch of burnt ends of wires that seem to go nowhere. Surprised the house didn't burn down.

So that was before the place had a city waste line. They dug outside away from the house and put a 55gal drum in the ground and all the sewage would go in there and then slowly soak into the ground... they didnt want it coming back up if it rained heavy so they put a ball valve..
