Help /diy/ I'm installing led strips and I don't know if the ceiling or walls look better to mount them (check second post for wall)

Mounted on wall

>> No.2010712

Whatever you do, keep it straight and clean. The 90 degree changes looks poopy

on the ceiling, of course, as long as you like soft lighting more, since the LEDs on the wall reflect the light more since the ceiling is white

What should I do at corners then? Maybe cut and solder on back so its at a 90 deg not rounded?
>>2010731
I don't follow I get the reflection but not the soft lighting

what I mean is that when placing the LEDs on the ceiling there are two surfaces with reflected light (ceiling and wall) and when placing the led strip on the wall, only the light is reflected on the wall and that is why it seems dimmer to me. It would also look better if you bought LED trims.

Oh I get what you mean. Could be camera but I'll double check in person. Corner pieces for the trim would be nice but the wood trim was already there when I bought the house and I don't feel like messing with it. I could but feel it wouldn't yield the results I would like. It has a curve too, so not really mountable.

Get a channel to attach to the wall and make it straight.

If you have to spend some money and you like the idea of trims, you can buy some silicone trims

I hope I have helped even if it is a little and also that in the future you update the thread with the results. :)

Make sure the channel comes with a diffuser too.

What? This channel does attach and is straight.
>>2010788
Think diffusers are a must? Can I buy some film to add on to the plastic this one doesn't and it was hard shopping for one at a good price. $150 for 40m isn't great
>>2010782
I like the idea of metal better. Probably be cheaper going plastic.
>>2010785
Totally did, any little opinion helps. I wanna do this right and once. I definitely will, hopefully by end of next week. I have the rest of the hardware, just need to wire up (and find my solder gun lmao). Ill have to see if I can make a webm of the results, itll go all the way around the basement.

OP best option is to install tik tok, realize that every faggot zoomer has this in their room, then uninstall tiktok + remove led

Fuck that place, what else would I do? Its in my basement. I had christmas lights before, leds will look nicer and they're sk6812s so controllable.
