Can you guys help me identify the type of woods this is made from? Any guide would be helpful. I will post the grain on the frame after this.

The base looks like ash...the tinkle box is rosewood with either birch or maple button insert...

it would be better to know the country of origin..

Does it have a made in mark? do you know where it came from?

Only reason why I say this, is British made stuff you see a lot of beech made objects, aspen, ash, birch.

American made stuff depends a lot on age. newer stuff thanks to woodcraft.. can be many versions of exotics. but typically its going to be for the north east; chestnut, white oak, red oak, maple hard, an various types of pines.

Southeast your gonna see more pines used, cypress, hollys, red oak again, and cherry's [oh I love black cherry so much, it just smells like fucking piss when its freshly cut]

West, redwoods, cedars, ect

I'm not too familiarized with asian woods, I know japanese use lots of soft woods, and Chinese use their first born daughters bones...

I should stop now. anyway you get the point.

It came from germany, made by Thomas Bothe. It was quite a pricey item and was made recently. The suggestion made by >>951875 seems logical since brazilian rosewood is sought after by instrument makers but it i don't know if i'm looking at the right kind of rosewood. Maybe it's blood wood but the dark streaks are quite different. Thanks for the help guys!

im not sure about the endgrain plug being maple. IT COULD be. but im not 100% sure nobody would be without testing it in a lab or some shit anyway. as far as the red colored wood. Its hard to tell.. because the dark banding in it is really turning me off, I've never seen rosewood stock where I live have such straight grain AND dark color.. but my bet would be on bolivian rosewood [Machaerium spp.]

Hard to contact, it was distributed by someone else and seems as though the maker stopped production because of health issues due to the wood dust being detrimental to his health. His site does not list any email, just a phone number and it seems very outdated. I will see if the distributer knows anything about it.

Could it possibly be cocobolo? The stuff is a notorious sensitizer and might have contributed to his health issues.

>adblock, the ad blocking plugin you are using was bought out by an unknown corporation for a large sum of money
>they compile your info to presumably sell to a third party, and sell default whitelisted ads to companies.

You ever wonder why your ad blocking software doesnt work on every ad? Because the company paid your shit ad blocker to not block the ad, while using your info to target the ad for you.

Fuck that, use ublock origin a much better blocker.

Also, that book looks like it did the trick. You are real close if not spot on. Ive always wondered if the book was any good.
