this parka is ventile and I quite like it a lot. A nice balance of water resistance, warmth, and comfort

DWR is durable water repellent coating. It's applied so water beads up and rolls off instead of soaking through. Swooshy is just as in most synthetic dwr fabrics can be sorta loud and crinkly, like goretex but ventile retains a nice cotton feel to it but with added water resistance
