Really good company, currently making the effort of moving most of the production in-house. Great history, one of the most significant names in the field of chronographs. A lot of iconic pieces.
That said, their designs are not for everyone and the general concept of their tool watches is completely obsolete today, even more so than any other watch. It's one thing to "just look at your phone" but it's another to have a computation tool on your wrist that is actually slower and less flexible than the many instruments you now use instead in the context that are supposed to be what the watches are meant for.
Also, while pricy, Breitlings retain their value pretty well and the interest in them is not diminishing. Maybe the current models with in-house movements will gain in value quickly, who knows.

tl;dr :
The "flight tool watch" value of Breitlings is mostly larp these days but the designs are still iconic, have a great history, and the watches themselves are solid

Pretty much.
And even if you don't like busy dials, the chronometer version also has aesthetics for days.

Get the blue but change the strap to either a bracelet or a dark brown leather one. Also make sure you're getting the 41mm and not the 38mm. I've always thought the Navitimer was ruined by its overly busy dial but this simplification and size down from the dinner plate proportions is honestly the best thing Breitling has made in a while. Not huge on the ETA movement but you're getting it for half price of the regular chronograph and Breitling's in house movements have always been a little wonky, a friend of mine has taken his BreitlingChronometer in for servicing twice in the past year and it's racked him up a hefty price tag so perhaps ETA won't be so bad.
