Rolex doesn't use silicon hairsprings, they use Parachrom which is a metal alloy. But also, the 114270 didn't originally use a parachrom hairspring. Maybe it was phased into later watches because I think some 3130 movements came with parachrom, but I'm not really sure. The 3132 movement is the one that definitely has the upgraded hairpsring, but that movement is in the 214270.

It's a SARB035, comes in black too (SARB033). They're like the most hyped watches on the internet, look them up and you'll find plenty of info.

I got pic related for my graduation. A used Rolex in good condition is probably around the same price range but way nicer than any TAG in my opinion. But that is a remake of an iconic watch and probably one of the best watches in TAG's mostly shit catalog, so if you're set on it I can't blame you too much.

I love it, it's a beautiful watch. I like some of the simpler DJs with oyster bracelets and smooth bezels, but the Explorer has such a nice dial and it's the perfect simple watch with no extra stuff. I also have a really casual job and not much reason to wear dressy clothes very often so I went for the sportier option. I also kind of like that it's much less recognizable as a Rolex to most people than a Sub or a Datejust would be.

I guess it's kind of silly. I don't find my Explorer as bad as the really busy shit like the new Air King or whatever.

The new engraved ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX text around the edge is also really ugly. It boggles my mind that Rolex ruined their watches so badly just to make it harder for Chinese people to fake them.
