I think dwc could hypothetically be a real subculture if it didnt directly contradict subculture. What I think of when I think of deepweb core is the dress of a profoundly anti-social hacker at varying stages of criminality.
There are a lot of stories describing how young hackers try to enact some domination upon their school/work (like bitcoin mining or edgy pranks) and they all seem to end in some kind of suicidal episode falling short of their grand plot. It seems like those dudes get into the deepweb with a sort of suicidal impulsiveness, its interesting to imagine a misanthropic solitary misfit getting hard drugs in the mail, spying on people, and making his money through illegal means without interacting with another human being directly (until losing their virginity to an escort.)
Man, fuck Mr. Robot i hate that normie 'le anonymous' interpretation of that kind of shit.
