What are some other boots with this design? i.e. minimal extras - maybe a zipper on the side or back - and a flat crepe/wedge sole. The ones pictured are Damir Doma. I know Rick has some like this as well.

Any ones around $200 or less?

Fair point on being busy, then again, they offer a lot of adjustability for the fitting, depending on whether you tuck or blouse your pants (adjust the laces).
Otherwise, the zipper is a nicely fast and comfy way to get in and out of them.

Julius Combat boots are also modelled after them.

Eh.. You can get someone to proxy it for you, but shipping from Germany to non-eu is about 40 usd, cause the boots are slightly too heavy for the 20 usd shipping option.

BUT - if they happen to be on sale, they're like 40 eur new, which puts them at roughly 100 usd with shipping, which still below the rrp of 150 usd new.

Pre-owned pilot boots go for roughly 40 eur, too, btw.

They are in no way bad boots, but are worn while doing mostly everyday service.
if we had to go on marches and other outdoor activities we had other boots,

First of all, i don't know why everyone keeps calling them paraboots, they are not paratrooper boots, but the standard austrian service boot.

What do you mean with "effective operate"?
They will do as good as any other similar army boot, but if you think of heavy weather situations they won't be good enough.
This is not what they're meant for.
But i'm pretty sure that every army gives their soldiers footwear for different situations.

Also, since people seem to like austrian boots google "Steinkogler Segeltuchschuhe".
These are the inofficial hot weather boots (you don't get them from the army, but are allowed to wear them), and i think they look great, especially in sand.

I'm looking for some cheap(ish) 8-inch leather boots. Are Doc Martens 1460s an alright purchase? I want something that can deal with the light snow we're getting in Seattle, but I don't want actual snow-boots. I was really banking on it not snowing this year but now I'm screwed because I've only got pairs of sneakers and leather shows.

As an aside, does anyone know how their Chelsea boots are? It's hard for me to find decent men's Chelsea's that aren't way above my price-range.

Depends on what you expect to get for your money, honestly. Asian-made DMs nowadays end up losing the heel of the sole within 6 months, and don't be surprised if the the sole around the balls go, too. They tend to slip in snow/ice, too. Those are Rangers from EMP right? I was also thinking of copping a pair, they seem to get dope reviews due to their durability, plus i already have huge calves and the steel-toes seem like a decent addition.

But yeah, i've seen people wear those in concerts and on the street, usually people say that a size down or size up will work fine, but you should probably be able to return them if they don't feel good even with wool-socks or boot-socks. Idk, that's just my two cents on the issue.

The stitching on mine has already went darker after +4 months of use, yours probably will also get the same effect. And yes, you can paint the stitching. i really like these guidi hikers, much more than any of their backzips. i've mostly been wearing rick these days and think these would fit oddly well since they're so bulky. i don't have any rick shoes though, so might get some creepers instead.

Anyone have experience reselling boots? My brother-in-law works at Red Wing and is offering to sell me factory seconds, and I'm just wondering if there's a market for reselling boots like there is for reselling sneakers.

Pic related. I can pick up multiple white moc toes for $75 and try to resell them, but I'm worried bcuz Concepts only ordered 150 of these and still couldn't sell them all in 3 months (at $320).

I'd be happy to buy a pair off you for a slight raise in price, but I wouldn't be going anywhere near 320 (and I don't think you'd have much luck selling them for a price like that anywhere) since you're right; the original release price was ridiculous, and there definitely wasn't any resell value with the original factory first releases. Depends on what you mean by fashionable. If you mean the "flavor of the year" tripe that most women enjoy wearing because it makes them like all the rest, then maybe not, but good boots for women can be found, as long as you're willing to pay the price. If you can't find what you're looking for in a store, maybe consider MTO boots.
