honestly, seiko 5's are probably the best cheap watches out there for people that want reliable, good looking watches that can go on various straps.

from the snk809 to the snzh55 and snkk48k1, you can go more formal, more casual or stay in the middle.

It's perfect tbqh. The Tritium Lume is amazing! Ball watches in general are great watches. If you like the Fireman Victory yoi sbould def also check out the Trainmaster line! They offer a quite similar aesthetic and have some great pieces.

I'm actually in love with my Apple Watch. Hated the design at first but I grabbed myself the smaller one and gave it a custom alligator leather strap. Hands down the most useful tech I have ever owned, but the hard part is putting it down (and its features) in favour of my other traditional watches. Seiko is an actual reputable watch company. Victorinox makes pocket knives. Their watch line is the cheapest of the mee too (technically) "swiss made" shit. JDM seikos most likely have much better quality and finishing, and they have actual brand heritage, whereas victorinox is essentially a mall brand like candino or festina.

Go for the Seamaster M8. Tthe case design, dial, hands, and indices are way more interesting than what the Datejust has. Plus the Seamaster is more versatile, you can dress it up if needed, but overall it is sportier which is preferable for everyday wear.

the reduced/automatic speedy is a very underrated watch, it's automatic, good size, nice movement, and it has the looks.

Their movements are nice and I grudgingly have to give them credit for being one of the few companies to actually build their own movements. There are also not a lot of new smaller companies appearing and developing the ability to manufacture complete movements including hairsprings and stuff in-house which I think Nomos does if I remember right.

I still don't think that justifies making boring derivative ripoffs of a design trend from 100 years ago. They're also dirt simple watches with nothing visually interesting about them which makes it kind of a slap in the face that they charge thousands of dollars for that shit, fancy in-house movement or not. And like that other anon said, they have a really obnoxious hipster following.
