Pic related are Ann D. Where can I find boots that look like these but are a little cheaper? I can afford them but I don’t feel comfortable paying £500 for these. Are they worth retail?

they should last you decades with proper care of the leather and resoling 1-3 times when needed.

i'd try to find a second hand pair - check ebay, grailed, depop.

Never pay retail. I see Ann D boots going on sale most of the time - 30%, 40% - if you're quick you might get them at 50%, but they sell out fast then.

Taller is better for tucking. If you're short, boots have a tendency to swallow your legs when you tuck, but when you're tall it can balance your proportions a little. With Corcorans you should definitely tuck imo. With a more modern style boot if you don't want to that's fine but it'll make the silhouette of your legs a bit bulkier overall, which I think often works with bulky tactical vests but might be harder to pull off if you're just wearing a t shirt and a light jacket or something

I need some black boots for winter streets, since there can be a lot of rain here with some snow.

Kind of like the look of these after Blade Runner, but I've also heard they are shit and will fall apart pretty fast.

Any recommendations for some boots with a similar profile? Plain styling is better, seems a lot of boots have a silly tacticool cut to them. Going to be wearing them with black jeans, not tucked since I have pretty strong legs.

kinda "round" fit, but pretty TTS guess? Pretty thick leather imo, but I'm not a pro on boots. Havent worn them much yet, since the weather warmed up again but next week it should be cold enough to wear boots again. Might change flat black laces on them at one point to see if I like them.

But yeah Sanders is a bit of a under the radar brand online. One of the most affordable shoes actually made in bongistan, but most comments I see of them are just like "yeah they are good, they made/make mcnairy shoes".

clarks are usually okay, but they're an asshole manufacturer.
you can't resole them and i've heard they use rubber that won't allow glue to stick, so you can't even stick a new heel on once they're through.
that, and of course mediocre leather and vietnamese child labour, but fashion-wise they're okay.

Given the backdrop of the movie, I doubt they’re from leather. That means you’ll actually have to look up how to take care of synthetic materials. Yeah I would assume the leather is coated in something, otherwise it wouldn’t be permanently waterproof. Just look for some products for coated, patent and synthetic leathers if you want to, but given how cheap and robust the boots are they probably don’t really need much care beyond cleaning. Shoe care might prevent cracks though

Corcorans look ok from the top-down, but they are still a bit big from the side. Not *quite* as chunky as Docs, but they won't do skinny legs any favors. Extremely thick leather and the shaft of the boot is also super wide, so unless you've got a pair of drum sticks, they aren't going to hug your leg at all when fully laced (and they'll look like pirate boots when partially laced/flared out).

Plenty of other jump boot options out there. Look at Ro Search boots, which you can find at any surplus store. Ansi/Biltrite combats are good too, but they tend to have steel toes so unless you find a pair that fits you perfectly, don't spring for them as the toes will NOT stretch.

Know anything about Sarmas?

https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/sarma-jump-boots/57144

>> No.12877768

>>12877736

Nope. Judging by the photos, they seem to have the bulk of Corcorans, so I'd be wary if your legs are on the thin side. Leather in the photo looks to be a bit thinner and softer than Corcs as well.

The description does state that the sole is glued to the boot, not nailed and/or stitched like Corcs. While there's nothing wrong with that (the Ro Search boots are also glued), you're paying way too much for what is essentially a lower quality boot.

A Ro Search will run you anywhere from $30-$60 USD, which is appropriate for its cheap build. A Corcoran $130-150. These Sarmas cost more than that and appear to offer less.
