I impulse bought pic related over the weekend, and I'm wearing it for the first time tonight. I don't usually enjoy concept fragrances, but this Replica has really hit its mark. It's surprisingly wearable, not all patchouli and cannabis, as there's a good bit of sweetness and some animalic skin / leather going on as well. If anything it might have too much apple for guys who aren't accustomed to unisex frags. If you require a manly patchouli, try Boss Cashmere Patchouli or Zegna Javanese Patchouli. As for Music Festival, it's decently complex, captures the feeling of a crowd of stoned hippies without too much funk, and delivers on the herbal / weed notes.

3. Don't go for vintage frags, it will make you look older than you are.

Try to find few niche scents for different occasions and seasons and stick with them. Amouage, for example, has decent quality and a huge variety of frags for a reasonable price (between 140 and 200 euros for 100 ml in my country).

I actually have the same problem honestly. There's just not a lot of occasions where it's very wearable. The only "formal" occasions I ever go to anymore are weddings or funerals, and seeing as weddings are almost always in the summer and funerals are sort of a scent no-go, I never get to wear TL either

I finally go to sample Viking. I’ve gotta say, I like it a lot. A lot spicier than I thought it’d be. You get really heavy lavender, pink pepper, mint, and vetiver in the opening. It really hits you. You start to get the Rose, citrus, and sandalwood as it dries.

Definitely not “the next Aventus”, but I don’t think it was ever meant to be. I’ll be copping once it hits the discount sites or the next time I’m in Europe.

I’m 35 also. I wear mostly niche stuff. I have Amouage Jubilation, Reflection, Bracken, and a Beach Hut. I love Roja Enigma, feels perfect for a more mature guy. I like Creed MI and a Royal Water. Aventus would probably work too, though in my opinion it is a bit of a younger man’s scent, and Pineapple Vintage is a thing. Clive Christian Rock Rose (I’m wearing that today, actually). A bunch of Tom Ford scents, most of his fragrances are aimed at older guys anyway. I like some of the Acqua di Parma scents.

I never understand this line of reasoning. Why would a tester bottle have anything but top quality perfume inside of it? They aren't trying to turn away customers by underselling their product. If you don't mind missing spray caps and retail packaging, testers are the way to go. Occasionally you get a low fill (minus 2-5 ml tops) but other than that I've had zero issues whatsoever.

Guerlain are a good option despite the whole IFRA/EU regs, they still stick to heritage for a couple of their classics. Roja was a staff trainer in Guerlain's beauty department and did talks and promo stuff, not a nose per se, but some of the frags Robertet made for his company follow a classical template, definitely worth looking for decants as opposed to full bottles.

I got a decant of Creed's Imperial Millesime and holy shit I can't stop smelling it. It's so good. It's so fresh, just the right amount of sweet and just smelling it takes me to the beach. Is there anything similar to it? I suspect only women's perfumes can smell similar.
