Here's what I did : lurk a lot, like a lot, and be sure to read the answers to understand the general point of view over certain stuff. Then, just go on feeling, I mean, buy stuff that look good on you (fits you) and wear them coherently. If you're not sure, just don't mix too many colors and use one v original piece at the time. When you'll start to be confortable you'll be able to try more I think.
