Black hair is different. It's thick and coarse and has to be moisturized in a certain way that fits your particular brand of thick coarseness in order to be healthy enough to grow. Mine coils up into little springy curls naturally if I don't comb it out for a while and every other black dude I meet asks how I get my hair like that and for a year I didn't even know what they were talking about. The only negative experience I ever had with a black guy was in college and he looked like that. Now, to give you some perspective, I 've lived beside black people and have worked with dozens of them so I know most of them are usually pretty affable. Thereafter, I found him to be a very rude individual. To others even. Now, this behavior isn't limited to blacks. In fact. It's extraordinarily rare, especially among black men. That's what made this occasion so remarkable.
