I'm the guy you are replying. Yes, exactly that, you want something like that and the only option is 1-spending a ton of cash and trying to find someone who sells it, 2-Never getting the watch or 3-replica time. If someone asks you can just tell that is a replica of an old model that was extremely rare and it will be ok even for most watch snobs. Now, a replica of an average explorer that you can buy with no problem as long as you have a bit of cash?, if you want the real deal you can buy an original, if you are poor or don't want the watch enough to spend that amount of money, you can get an homage, some smiths everest, some tisell, some chinkshit that has some brand on the dial but with the same design...

Honestly, if you get a flat crystal then the watch is most likely going to look pretty cheap and, well, flat.
Seriously, the difference a good dome makes on a design like Junkers' is enormous and doesn't show on photos. It gives a surprising amount of depth to a watch with a very flat dial, so if you take that away, you're just left with the flat dial.
I'm not sure the applied indices will be enough to stop that.

Tracking one and having it installed by a pro is probably going to be quite the hassle and end up costing you more than a quartz Junkers, maybe even an automatic if you can find people still stocking it...
Honestly, modding really cheap watches so they can get up to the specs you want is rarely worth it unless they are already covered by an active modding community (like Vostok or some Seiko models) otherwise it will just end up increasing the price to the point that you could have afforded something better that was up to the specs you wanted.
The cheapskate always spends the most.

Ordinary people mistake taste for a petty bourgeois aesthetic conservativism that's not based on their actual personal aesthetic preferences, but a desire for social acceptance and a for achieving a "timeless look" that ensures the versatility and the lasting monetary value of their hard-earned purchase.
For the traditional upper classes and actual royalty timepieces are not tools of social representation but daring extensions of their personality by which they break social expectations in a subtle and acceptable manner.

the Spanish and the Italians suffer from a different kind of autism, looking at your watch in a social setting was considered very inappropriate well into the second half of the 20th century so they used to wear it so much below the bone that it was entirely covered by the cuff. Agnelli wearing it in the same position but over the cuff was a deconstruction of what was considered appropriate in high society.

Probably is all about the patina. You have vintage watches that have been aging for many many years, but vintage watches can be tricky in terms of service and maintenance and they also had lume that aged. If you buy a new watch it will be shiny, and if it's expensive there are many chances you won't be using it enough to give it a used look or ''patinated'' and also the lume won't age. With bronze cases you can have a new watch that can get some interesting patina in a short amount of time.

I like bronze because I like the maritime old stuff, it had many bronze pieces, sextants, compasses, bells...it has a timeless look and feel, but as I said, I don't like that crap rust that some people adds to it.

Are mechanical chronographs the dumbest part of the watch world? You don't get bragging rights like minute repeaters or tourbillions, which is even less useful but still very effective in 'flaunting your wealth'. But mechanical chronos are *just* priced enough so average dumbs can afford it, but happens to be thick, expensive for what you get, expensive to service, and are sized so big it looks like a average mall shitter to non watch people.

Pic unrelated, an actual better choice than a seagull mechanical chrono microshitter.

My point is exactly the opposite dummy. There will always be people who want to brag, and there will always be products that are stupidly expensive to meet that market. I personally don't give a shit about other people's thoughts on my watch, but people who buy minute repeaters, hypebeast clothes and shoes, some other stupidly expensive car etc certainly do.

Mechanical chronogrpahs are just dumb in the sense that they are uglier, more costly, and aren't even worth it. People say stuff like 'well than why wear anything other than a quartz?' but for 3 handers are there any quartz watches with nice designs like microbrands do, using higher quality materials like sapphire/ceramic etc at a similar price?

Microbrand shitters with 2824 or nh35 work cause they have designs that appeal to people other major brands won't offer at a cheaper pricepoint with better quality, not soley cause they're mechanical. Mechanical Chronos can't do that cause either they are too expensive for what you're getting, too expensive to service, or just way to thick and big.

Yes, or an external mic. Needs to be completely quiet if you use your phone's. It's not as good as a real timegrapher, but works well enough for regulating. It's not free though, but I use it enough that I don't mind paying.

Really good company, currently making the effort of moving most of the production in-house. Great history, one of the most significant names in the field of chronographs. A lot of iconic pieces.
That said, their designs are not for everyone and the general concept of their tool watches is completely obsolete today, even more so than any other watch. It's one thing to "just look at your phone" but it's another to have a computation tool on your wrist that is actually slower and less flexible than the many instruments you now use instead in the context that are supposed to be what the watches are meant for.
Also, while pricy, Breitlings retain their value pretty well and the interest in them is not diminishing. Maybe the current models with in-house movements will gain in value quickly, who knows.

tl;dr :
The "flight tool watch" value of Breitlings is mostly larp these days but the designs are still iconic, have a great history, and the watches themselves are solid

In that case, it's a dressed up version of their older bezel design, but the beaded bezel has become something of a staple of the Navitimer line.

1. Long seconds hand, anything with a short one has been swapped
2. Picture of movement, the number (2609 or something) should match the catalog one
3. Russian only text or English only text, never a mixture. I'm still not sure if the English versions are actually legit releases for the capitalist pigs in the west.

If these 3 are correct the chances are you have a legit one. It's still an unknown though, for example the Copernicus I got for 120 seemed legit other than a new leather strap, but I'm still unsure.

If most of the things fit the profile, it doesn't matter.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT get it from russian-watches.info.
They pay to get on top of google listings when searching russian watches, they even get first page results when searching current Raketa models they do not even stock. They sell fakes, some obvious (big 24h watches that were never part of Raketa's catalog, ever, including ome that are using dial designs from Vostok or Poljot), some not so much ("commemorative" Big Zero variants that look enough like official pieces to seem believable, especially since Raketa made commemorative watches for dignitaries and military personnel) as well as frankens and redials labeled as NOS.
A couple years back, they stocked some really obvious fake Raketas with WW2 era german planes on the dials and were immediatly busted by the then freshly revived Raketa brand that blacklisted the website on the spot.
so you are most likely to get a fake of sort. And that is, if you get anything at all as a bunch of people have come forward describing how they received completely different watches from what they ordered, or even got a notice that their products had been "destroyed or lost during shipping" just a week after the order was placed, before any shipping number could be provided, which is beyond suspicious.
Keep an eye out on Ebay and maybe Etsy, a bunch of legit russian watches sometimes show up from Ukraine, Belarus or Kazakhstan, far from the official stocks that Raketa stopped managing properly in the 90s as they were going under, and these distant stocks can be in pretty good condition. Just do some research into movement ID (all movements built in the USSR had to have a specific identification number engraved on the bridge, if a seller won't open the caseback to show it, that's a bad sign), dial characteristics, cases and you'll find one eventually. Find catalog photos.
Sadly, the Copernic isn't as well documented as the Big Zero that has a few guides and discussions online tracking what fakes exist on the market.

Actually they were exported to East-Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia. At one point some were even exported into France and especially Italy.
That's why you can find some legit Raketas with the USSR State Mark of Quality (see pic) with text in latin instead of cyrillic.
It's most known with vintage Vostok where you have the common Boctok, the lesser-known Vostok of the DDR and Czechoslovakia, and the most unusual Wostok for the polish market.
