How do you maintain senses of style as you age?

>> No.12780260

Don't fall into the rut of being late 30s and drained creatively and emotionally from work and life. That's around the age that most people stop giving a fuck what they look like and wearing whatever's comfortable.

Basically just stay interested in looking decent.

Maintaining physical fitness is huge. It's not just because it keeps you looking good, but that it also prevents you from being forced into oversized department store menswear. A lot of old guys have shit fashion due to lack of options. When you're 40 lbs overweight with a bear belly, it's just more comfortable to wear sweatpants, and a XXL sports team tshirt.

Totally depends on your job, environment and physical aspects.
But generally stop wearing streetwear (you should after you are >20). Less extravagant pieces, more minimal (doesn't mean you should stop wearing cool stuff, it's just avantgarde will only be acceptable if you have creative job and live in hip fashionable town).

Take a look at most /fa/ twinks it's pretty obvious that the younger you are the less sense of style you have.

my dad is 60 and dresses like pic related to work (but trade the hat for a flat cap).

In some ways, being older is alot more effay. Most men take on an "older man's" attractiveness when they get older. The same doesn't apply for women who are only effay as long as they look young.

What's an example of Street wear you are referring to? I'm a staff biomedical scientist and age 27. What kinds of cloths are appropriate for someone like me?

chinos and tucked in shirts

older women who dress their age can look very good

Satan is right. My Mum always had a decent sense of fashion, and she dresses well even now. She owns the cropped trousers and duffle coat look

maybe she can look good as in look fashionable and graceful, but most, if not all women, are not attractive once they grow old whereas men are.

Older men are a staple fantasy that a lot of girls like whereas, a young guy who likes wrinkly old women has a fetish.

An man when older can be attractive because he's got more than just youthful good looks which women do not.

Being somewhat attractive is a pre-requisite to being effay

not saying all men become attractive when they're older but many do and few if any women do.

I like those vintage posters, but that guy's head looks almost tiny, to me. What decade was this from? Usually, posters were used to represent the idealized body proportions of the time, and still are now, but I didn't realize that small heads (or very wide-shouldered coats) were a thing before the 1980s.
