How to become a model, does anyone have experience with this?

Although I don't consider myself attractive, probably because I have body dysmorphia, I've been told numerous times that I could be a model. Random women and even guys said it out of the blue. More than a week ago when I was riding my bike to university, some dude stopped me and asked me if I wanted to take part in his photoshoot. He owns a salon, so it's not a modeling agency. I considered doing it, could be a good entry level type of job.

So how does a 6'2" camera shy autist earn some money with modeling?
