When I finished the sideboard to the current state I replaced my much larger shelf with it amd had to sort out a bunch of shit. I got rid of about 70% of my stuff just by asking if I actually needed it every day (and putting my jackets and stuff in the hallway), and moved it all to our basement, which granted is pretty big, but maybe that works for you too.
Not "not enough room", just too much stuff, but of course everybody is different.

>>13568739
The frame is actually worth indefinitely more than the painting, which is really just a Bob Ross ripoff with a different technique made by a family friend. Id rather replace that than the frame, wuich as far as I know is actually old and valuable...

>>13568745
Ill build something for them too eventually I hope. Id rather keep the sideboard completely empty in the final design. If anything just put something decoratibe on it.

Also: any thoughts on our kitchen? I just have these picd lying around since I need to rent out my room while travelling. Still appreciate any criticism.

I do believe that most of the single pieces are pretty good, but Im aware that there isnt one cohesive style tying it all together.
I think that will have to wait until I actually live alone and not with flatmates...

Also: bathroom since I have it saved with the others... not much style to be found there either though...

Love these green accents with the steel blue walls and couch. I have a green Ralph Lauren couch and chair I'm trying to work into my living room during a remodel and trying to figure out what color to paint the walls. Was thinking of going white with an accent wall pic related color.

>> No.13578303

/diy/ here. They are a meme. The rails at the top and the roof of the container are not structural at all (the roof of a container is light gauge steel, and will dent easily if you step on it). If you cut openings in the container walls, the entire structure starts to deflect and needs to be reinforced because the corrugated sides act like the flange of beam and once big pieces are removed, the beam stops working. All of this steel reinforcing is very expensive. All these "cool container" """houses"""" are really essentially just the aesthetic in the end since you have to basically rebuild the entire structure in order to make it semi safe and work. It's not green since you can't use a used one because the chemicals that may have been on it and the lead based paint used to withstand actual shipping on the sea. Then heating and cooling is a nightmare. You might as well just build the shape you want. It will be cheaper and better.

I guess so. I feel like if I do my whole room in a dark color it will be too claustrophobic. I also will have my TV and speakers on the accent wall so a darker color can help blend that a bit better. I'm running all cables in the wall so it won't be some mess but still I think would look better than a light color.

really awesome architecture anon, I would suggest tidying and maybe some consider if the furniture is big enough to contain the things you need on it. your clothes and office stuff need proper storage from what i can see. maybe some things are doing a job that's too big for them - printer table, desk, etc. you don't need huge things, and i know bigger furniture will take up more space but if you get the right size it will do a lot to visually have things put away or organized neatly.

So I moved into a townhouse recently for school and have been trying to set up so please forgive the mess.
I have one main problem right now though, I want to replace my blinds with curtains but I'm not sure what colors would work best with my room.
I was thinking about playing it safe with white or off-white curtains, but I've also been wondering what else could work.
Another option I was thinking about was finding some kind of material that could diffuse the light that comes into my room.

Personally I only see myself doing something like that for a party or when I'm chilling with friends. Wouldn't be something I'll use on the regular.

Try candles, been using them for a while now instead of a lamp when I'm on my computer, reading, or listening to music.
