I dig these and I have been looking for something similar. Georgia boot company makes something like this but the heel is joined to the rest of the sole, making the side profile look a little weird. They also have the Georgia giant which looks a bit better. I still haven't decided on anything yet. All I know is I want something sort of chunky like my black Timberlands but different.

I hope you find the right boots. I have a much more Western Styled pair by a now defunct brand called Acme. They were absorbed into Double H in the early 90s I believe.

I just copped a pair of captains coming in about 4 days. I tried the iron rangers in-store but didn't buy it cause the toe cap looked very bulbous and clowny. I was going to buy wolverine 1000 mile in brown or in rust, but the rpice tag put me off for right now, I'll probably cop those when they go on sale though. I'll come on one of the nexk boot generals and post my pair of Thursday boot captains when they come in

So, i'd like to ask if someone has experience with Zamberlan from Italy?

Currently eyeing the Verbier, but would like to know if it would be suitable for hiking as well, so i can have them as an allround winter/hiking boot.

those are red wing iron rangers, used to be 300 a pop recently went up 320-330, thorogoods, thursday, and maybe chippewa? (cant remember for sure) as well as some others if you're looking for the look.

I have that exact boot that I've worn for about 6 years. I have very few complaints other than; the older ones have slick cork soles that are a living hell in snow/ice. They've recently started coming with treaded soles. And they aren't the most comfortable if you're gonna be on your feet many hours a day if you're feet aren't conditioned for it.
