I live in NYC but it's a shithole with ugly brick housing projects and even uglier people (especially the girls, who are all either fat and black, Puerto Ricans/Dominicans or Jewesses).
The only /fa/ part of the city is SoHo which is just filled with tourists who want to show off their fit. I can't take looking at this shithole anymore, what are some comfy effay places to live?

It’s effay in picture but you would feel lonely and out of place there. No one else would share your belief, no one would know what you’re into, everyone is traditional and like, we all listen to modern shit, right? No one in the countryside will be able to relate to us.

I’d say NYC and Seattle is effay. Maybe Portland too. You can hate the annoying teenagers, but who doesn’t hate teenagers? Pretty sure everyone hated me when I was a teenager as well. Also, you can’t deny that it would make you feel good to live in a place with cool vintage bike shops, vinyl and cassette record store, art galleries, indie music venues with cool indie bands willing to visit your city, cool obscure cafes, etc etc. It’s exciting, anons. And we would surely feel like we’re in our own habitat. Everyone is like us (they like what we like, they can appreciate the aesthetic we’re trying to create, etc etc.). In the countryside, no one would praise your Lemaire. Hell, not everyone would prolly know what Lemaire is. It’s shit.

lol no I live here and it’s quite nice because I don’t need to constantly be surrounded by stores and consumerism to be happy. I can sit on a completely empty beach and read a book any time, whenever I’m up and making my eggs for breakfast I’m looking at the cows at my fence. There are great hiking trails, plenty of good coffee spots, and the city is close enough that I can see most of my favorite artists live whenever they come by. We have stores in the city that sell shit like undercover collabs and cdg but I’m happy to live quite outside it away from everybody

See? Even the biggest selling point of your place is that it’s close to the city. I like living IN the city, it makes me feel like I’m part of the right kind of people. I’m surrounded by people who are ALIVE and have big dreams, stores that open 24hr in case I’m hungry at 1AM, new cool startup things everyday (like incity scooters that I could pay with digital payment), it’s like, everyday is a different day and I’ll see different stuffs on the street, on my way commuting to work at a digital agency.

Even the internet sucks in the countryside. Also, nature is where the wildlife belongs, we’re supposed to build civilization on it, not living like the animals do.

No, it’s not like that. But at least in the city everyone is on the same wave length, and they can appreciate your kind of aesthetic. Not like brand whoring. Imagine living in a countryside where everyone is an old farmer and no one can relate to the kind of aesthetic you’re going for. It must be so lonely.

But yeah I don’t like wandering around the nature and reading books on the beach. I don’t even read books. Fiction is pointless. Living in the countryside would make me feel like I’m missing out, like I’m not living my life to the fullest and everyone is feeling sorry for me. Even here in the city, I don’t go to clubs and bars, I don’t have sex, I don’t have friends, I don’t go to music shows, I don’t go to thrift shops but I still have hopes that I will be like other people someday. Living in the countryside would make me lose hope and just floating around with no goals.

My current life goal is to be like them. The normie, cus they’re happy and I’m not.

You missed the part where I said I’d rather live here than in the city. Plus, it’s not a particularly big city, just under a million but it’s spread out so realistically it’s more like 400k in the city proper. Also I’d argue that people outside cities are more “alive” than consumerist drones in cities who constantly need flashing lights and shopping to be stimulated. The “right kind of people” to me are just good, honest people, not people who like the right things.

>Even internet sucks in the countryside
I’m fine, I hover around 200mbs and that’s enough for me
>Nature is where the wildlife belongs

Honestly it sounds like you’re young (and I don’t mean that to insult you) and that you need to grow and mature and find what makes you intrinsically happy. I thought the exact same way as you when I was like 16-22. People here can appreciate my aesthetic without knowing what brands I’m wearing, hiking is relaxing, reading a book on the beach puts you at ease.

Nobody is feeling sorry for me, and if they are, then it’s misplaced. I used to feel like I was missing out, then I realized that’s just grass is greener thinking. People in big cities might feel like they’re missing out on other sorts of lifestyles when they go through the rounds every day. I’m content with where I am.

Also, the problems you mentioned, I do all of that (minus clubs because I hate them) and I live in the country. It’s not where you live, that’s from you. Don’t try to emulate people

I buy them in the supermarket because that’s what humanity is supposed to become. We’re not the ones living in the same ecosystem doing the same kind of thing for 1000 years. We evolved to find the right fit for our livelihood, and now after ages of discovery, we have figured out that humans are supposed to be away from the nature, using tools to survive. No, that’s what humanity HAS become. Whenever it’s in season I can fill a freezer with duck, deer, whatever other birds I can find, and all it costs me is about the dollar a shell costs. Living off the land feels right, it’s intrinsic, I can appreciate a city and visit them regularly (I travel often) but I don’t need constant shiny lights and shopping and having everybody be exactly like me to be happy and comfortable

I’m not saying the countryside is or isn’t for you. Maybe you really would be happier in a city, maybe you wouldn’t, but my point is that you seem to be spending too much time comparing yourself to others instead of observing your surroundings, taking into account what you have, and asking yourself “am I actually happy?” and if not then thinking deeply about it and asking what actually would make you happy. Imagine thinking “cityfags” and fashion in general didn’t steal literally all of their inspiration from folks outside of cities. You romanticize it all and then bastardize it. Half of this board is scrambling to buy cowboy boots right now, folks want to dress in flannels and slp shit (flannels were rural), there are so many other examples. The city consumes, fashion takes inspiration from outside of cities and feeds it to people who live in them.

I used to think like you. At some point I realized the answer to my life's problems weren't going to be solved by trying to appeal to trendy city dwellers.

The city wont change your life, especially the way you're living it right now. You'll only feel lonelier if you make no effort to be with anyone. The fact that you set an actual goal to try and talk to other people around you is a step in the right direction, but in the end whether or not you choose to do so is a decision you have to make. You usually have to be in the right places though. For example, London is riddled with asians wearing hypebeast clothing and you encounter them near all UNIQLOs and universities. People of Stockholm have a good fashion sense but the immigrants that have a hard time integrating and adjusting to life do ruin the immersion quite a bit.

doesn't exist

You dress high fashion(hypebeast/techwear/any other expensive zoomer shit)
Or you emulate it with thrift/fast fashion/fashionreps/diy
Or you NOT into fashion(basics/wallmart tier stuff/unironical dad core/military/workwear/etc)

Oi Polloi, The Hip Store and Peggs and Son are all British stores that sell almost exclusively mid-range stuff. I wear mostly mid-range stuff myself.

I probably should have said style or menswear rather than fashion. Anyway, Paris doesn't have a lot of shops like a day's march, Albam, Drakes (a bit pricier but same kind of thing), John Simons, Oi Polloi etc.

For example oi polloi brands are APC, Norse Projects, Kitsune, Out Legacy, Penfield, Carhartt, Fjallraven etc must be available at Paris.

correct answer: any relevant major global city
This includes
>NYC
>Chicago
>LA
>SF
>London
>Paris
>Amsterdam
>Rome
>Milan
>Berlin
>Barcelona
etc.
These cities are places where young/attractive people live, there is shit to do at night, the population is big enough to where most of the shit that goes on in the world happens here. Anyone saying small towns/countryside will have some nice aesthetics you can't get in a major city but there is nothing to do there and not as many people to interact with

I live in NYC and I hate every single one of those things, especially anything to do with bycicles. Also you can only afford to live in those hipster neighborhoods if you have rich parents. No one here appreciates fashion, as a tall well dressed white man you look extremely out of place.

Living in NYC is like being on some kind of alien planet, it's absolutely filthy, everyone is ugly, and no one speaks in a comprehendable way. I rarely see other white people and I'm sure this is in some way damaging my psyche.
