Oh my fucking god!!!! Its everything. Fucking polyester is poisonous i just found out. WHY CANT WE STOP MAKING SHIT IN LABS JESUS CHRIST

I have to research shit for HOURS to find something cheap that is made from all natural organic shit with no chemicals in it. Finally get the ball rolling and getting that going. OH NOW I CAN ONLY BUY CLOTHES 100% COTTON. Fucking Jesus Christ literally everything i own and buy has polyester in it. Im not gonna be able to wear anything i like holy fucking shit

If this stupid shit government cared about why cant they fucking ban synthetic lab made cheap shit the way they do drugs. FUCK THE OVERNMENT. I cant have weed but i can eat gmos, cancer causing chemicals in mass, wear poison, breathe in poison, have lead in my food, and drink high fructose corn syrup fuck off

its pretty fucked up. walked into an 'outdoor' shop the other day, smelled like poison. all the clothes were polyester, every piece of equipment shitty chinese plastic, even the shops floors and counters were made from plastic. everything is plastic at this point so there's no point being super pedantic about it. Just accept that your natural life span might be shortened a bit.. and will need to be enhanced with de-ageing operations that involves sterilized made in the swiss alps hyper-plastic being inserted into your skeleton.

>I CAN ONLY BUY CLOTHES 100% COTTON
Cotton is actually worse for the environment because it requires lots of pesticides and then lots of bleach to get it white then lots of dye to get it colored.
Entire rivers in indonesia have been poisoned thanks to the clothing industry.
We need to move forward with bamboo based fibers like lyocell if it can be done sustainably.

It's pretty easy to just avoid polyester in anything new and then thrift/buy vintage when something you want inevitably is going to have it.

All of my clothes are natural fiber except some vintage 50/50 tees and polyester fleeces.

Stop wearing fast fashion, ya dork. Also, gmo's could actually be key to more sustainable natural fibers.

As much as you should try to avoid being around foreign chemicals that could have an adverse effect on your body, it's not the end of the world man. We are definitely around more shit chemicals now than our ancestors but we've almost completely ditched all of our natural processes, for example all of our fertiliser and such is almost all made in labs which ruins the land. If you really care about all of this then ditch modern society. Small communes focussed on isolated living can and do exist even if they're reluctant to accept outsiders. Of course, this all depends on the life you wish to live. Do you want to live a modern life or a traditional life?
Personally, I'm saving up enough to eventually transition into as much of a traditional life as I can manage. If you really can't wait, then stop complaining, stop visiting /fa/ and 4chan. Sell your house and all your electronics and go live like the Amish. Nothing is stopping you if you really want to live a natural life anon. Live your dream or live an unfulfilling life. It's all up to you.

I went through the same thought process, exclusively buy cotton/leather thrifted and the occasional pretentions fashion brand peice thats made of japanese silk or some shit now. Beyond the environmental stuff something feel gross and unnatural about artificial fabrics touching your skin, and once the piling starts that shit becomes irritating to wear. If you've ever worked out in a polyester t shirt the fucking smell afterwards is ungodly. I cringe whenever I see those huge ass racks of cheaply made zara/forever21/whatever fast fashion brand clothes knowning that they're going to be worn twice by some thot and then fill up a landfill somewhere for like 200 years.

>yfw no matter how much poison a person consumes throughout his/her lifetime, the life expectancy at birth is only getting better and better

Polyester is good. Fleece is literally the most comfortable material, be it lining in jackets, pants or in itself. Dries quick, it also keeps you dry. I suppose, you never wore anything with Dri-FIT from Nike either. Some brands know how to use artificial materials, others don't. It's that simple.

>fill up a landfill somewhere for like 200 years.
fabric doesn't get put in landfills.
it gets shipped to africa and india and people there wear it out and eventually it gets made into rugs.
polyester lasts forever because it is plastic.
it is strong and one day the future peoples of america or china will be buying antique polyester rugs from india made from our zara tillage

Source?

This is from WHO: "Global average life expectancy increased by 5.5 years between 2000 and 2016, the fastest increase since the 1960s."
It can be that in some countries, it's flattening out and there is no increase anymore, but that's not the case globally.

>>14853494
Yes, that can be one reason. The other reason might be, that we got close to what's biologically possible.

>> No.14855206

Americans buy 60kg of clothing a year, about 1/3 of that they throw out. The vast majority is polyester.
These are averages by the way.
