What the hell is with Levi's 501 jeans?
I got three pairs in the mail, two shades of black and one blue. One fits right, one is baggy, and one I can't even get buttoned. And they are NOT high-waisted. They don't barely reach halfway to my belly-button. And on top of that, the stitching is crap.

I'm going to return these and say fuck Levi's from now on, their quality has turned to shit apparently.

Are there any good alternatives that are better quality, still in a mid-low-price range ($150 or less), straight leg and HIGH WAISTED jeans?

And don't say Wranglers because those aren't high waisted either, and the pocket piss me off because you can't reach into them when wearing a belt.

i like levis 505 and 550
i prefer used jeans tho

>> No.14849139

just buy used on ebay. you can get them for fraction of the price.

i am giving up on levi also. i cant stand that now all of their 511's are "stretch"

Do high waisted pants for men even exist anymore? I can't find em anywhere. In fast fashion it's like it doesn't even exist.

You have to try them on in a store. I've taken several pairs of the same cut, same shade, and same size into a fitting room, and they all fit differently.

Pisses me off the direction that company has gone. They used to be well made for a good price. Now they're made in 3rd world shitholes with no quality control and they charge top dollar for it.

this. i went to 4 stores this weekend and couldn't find any good 100% cotton jeans.

Levi's used to make good jeans for a decent price. I don't even know who makes a decent 501 style jean these days without spending a lot of money.

Pretty much every other company is selling prefaded or worn jeans which look like trash, or jeans that just don't look good (wrangler).

Levi's quality control is fucking atrocious. I learned my lesson after buying Levi's online and finding the fits all over the goddamned place. It's inexcusable for there to be so much variance between the same model of jean. If Levi's were making doors, half of them wouldn't fit in the goddamned door frame.

Since this is now jeans/denim general

i thrifted a pair of naked and famous jeans the other day that were waist 33 and im a 29/30 and after i got them in the wash n dryer it shrunk down to being useable with a belt of loop and button trick

This line is allegedly reissues from Levi's. I'm not sure if their "reissues" are any better, but they're well out of OP's price range. The descriptions for each item indicates they're "imported" which leads me to believe they're charging made in the USA or Japan prices for foreign made denim, so who knows how the quality actually is.

Do you even thrift shop? The jean selections are usually god awful, especially if you're around a 30 waist.

They do. Before I went back to school and got a better job I made money buying clothing from thrift stores and reselling it on eBay. I've gotten some of my favorite clothing from thrift shops. That said, it's not easy to find stuff that fits and looks good, and a lot of thrift store trips ended (and when I go now still end) without finding anything good.

99% of my jeans are Levis. I've had good luck with David Bitton (buffalo ) jeans and recently copped a pair of Eagle Blue which were like 9$ on ebay and the quality is comparable to levi's. Plus the style is fresh.

>Kohls

Dude. You go to a dpt store and pay 55-80$ for a pair of new levis. You can get them online 24/7 for $15-$35 or at MOST $55 if you're desperate. My last pair of levi's were brand new $14.99. Same with shoes, I have multiple pairs of multi-hundred dollar shoes (MSRP) I copped for <100$

>> No.14851304

>>14851285
where are you getting them for $15?
lowest i've seen them is $35-$40.

if you're going to shop department stores, at least go to macy's and take advantage of their constant 'one day' sales or friends/family discounts.

I been fucking with wrangler couple years now and no regrets

>> No.14851389

I don't trust 501 jeans anymore because of this reason. I feel like every pair is different. It also seems like its gotten baggier over time.
