im 6.0" and snk 42mm-lug-to-lug fits, lugs stop at the edge.

also, maybe consider the islander 38 if you are worried. Same movement (nh35 =4r36), lower price and same or better finishing.

How old are you?
Generally speaking men tend to take until about 35 to completely fill out. As long as the lugs don't overhang your wrist you should be fine, and I really doubt that they will.
Even if they do, I've seen plenty of pencil wristed normies walking around with 50mms on Bund straps, you'll still look better than most.

The classic no date sub is literally flawless. The maxicase just looks off. I mean just looking at it on its own it still looks great but soon as you compare it the awkwardness shows.

If you want to flaunt a bit of cash to your buddies and hopefully have it appreciate in value some. Then get one. There are more interesting watches out there though and better investments.

The idea of having to wind your chronograph before use is weird and sounds annoying as hell to me. Whenever I use my chrono it’s because I need it right away with quick access and little notice.

My current favorite $10k-$20k watch is the JLC Master Control Chronograph Calendar. 40mm wide and 12mm thick packed with all the complications that you would find in a $30k+ Patek but for like half the price, and honestly probably better movement.

I’ve heard of some AD’s already offering it at $11k. It shits all over many watched in that range, easily.

Only Swiss meat gazers actually think Seiko produces all shitters. Dollar for dollar they're ahead of the curve. They've got plenty of history. As you said, they produce some awesome designs. They've got movements and finishes that beat out a lot of their peers at various price points between entry shitter and luxury shitter.

They're popular and can be found everywhere though, that is what generates most of the vitriol. You can't brag about Seiko for the most part, you are not unique wearing a Seiko. That is an turnoff for the special snowflake crowd.

It's on the expensive end of Chinese homages but the san martin stuff is usually pretty high quality. The sw 200 is a real swiss made movement made by the swiss. The pt 5000 is a pretty decent chinese copy of it.
Id say it's probably worth the money with either movement but I would think hard before spending the extra money for the real authentic swiss one.

i understand what you mean, the brand itself doesn't have enough oomph to justify bragging rights just because of the name alone, it will never be that.
What does tend to happen to me is that people will first compliment the watch, and then sometimes recognize the brand when they learn it's a Seiko and sometimes not. But most find the watches ok if not pretty. I do dare to say i have 'some' taste in nice watches, so they got spared as far as weird designs go if you ask me.

Similar posts should be mandatory lecture for everybody who intends to fall for the luxury meme. Big part of the appeal is how you think peoples perception will change towards you because of the reputation of the brand.
Reality is: if you are likeable, people will like everything on you and find ways to justify why it fits you well.

That's aesthetics, not function. You may as well be saying that well done engravings make your gun shoot better. Either you admit that the main function of a watch for you is jewelry or "clout" and that telling acceptable time is secondary, or you can continue to cope with whatever the marketing man has memed you into believing. I don't think you understand the fact that it doesn't affect my life at all if my watch runs a bit slow or fast. It's still good enough of a measurement for my needs and on top of that I get the other qualities.
You are the one who doesn't accept this reality, I certainly would never claim my watch is more precise than a quartz, I simply say it's irrelevant because I don't lose anything.
