If you want to draw a warm color based artwork, then dont paint too much cold color to it., try light red orange in multiply layer.

I think I could conclude a few points out of what >>3376596 said, be noticed that the soft light blending could ruin your value balance, it can increase or decrease the value when painting brush tone with it, so try different color (light or dark) and see what color fit your situation.
