a) Understanding perspective is a matter of experience. Take pictures, visit places. You need to build a large library of reference both mentally and physically/digitally. Nothing beats real-life experience. Of course, you'll need to read up on theory and apply them, such as point perspective rules or rule of thirds in composition. I sometimes like to take photos of figurines to test out how the composition/perspectives would roughly be like and it's invaluable to my work

b) Don't worry about drawing from memory. That comes with years of practice. Right now, your focus should be on getting your fundamentals down to build yourself up to the next step
