Mypaint always had one of my favorite interfaces to me. It always seemed very sleek for an open source program. It seems like the developers based the interface off sketchbook pro.

My biggest problems with MyPaint is the lack of transformation and selection tools. If the developers decided to include those things MyPaint can possibly become a nice alternative to Paint Tool Sai IMO. You can also use GIMP if you want to use MyPaint's brush engine but want have transformation/selection tools + filters. But then you have to deal with gimp.

IMO MyPaint is more of a "alternative" to Paint Tool Sai compared to krita if you was trying to compare it on the basic of having a simple, easy to understand interface with limited features. I would use MyPaint more if the devs would finally develop selection/transformation tools for it. MyPaint always had so much potential ;_;

>How is it compared to Krita?

I feel like mypaint is more of a "competitor" to it. It's interface, included brushes, and goal of "simplicity" is very similar to Autodesk Sketchbook.

Mypaint has so much potential. The developers just need to fix some of the bugs and add selection/transform tools. I find it very polished for an open source program.
