Shit like this always sparks the art vs artist debate. I mean if the person is morally dubious then I'd say it makes sense. But having a different opinion and political stand point have always been a weird reasoning to 'lynch' someone. The "you're with us or you're against us" tribalism just goes off the rails with twitter and by extension Tumblr. Why does political shit have to be treated as black and white when its pretty complicated shit?

When LAS gets to 365 days, the flawless should meet up and draw. People with such determination could be nice contacts.

Or we could just do a LAS meetup, but you autists wouldn't come would you :(

>go to illustration program at college
>first day of program roll call
>teacher gets the fat autistic kid's name wrong
>fat autist gets triggered and goes on an angry rant
>good first impression, bud
>computer lab is in the same room as drawing room, there's a cubicle wall in between
>fat autist always sits at the computer in the corner
>is always loudly eating chocolate or chips
>no one ever the computer he sits at because the keyboard is sticky
>audibly watches South Park episodes and "HELLLOOOO THIS IS THIS THE NOSTALGIA CRITIC"
>after two years in the program gets still gets everyone's name wrong
>only draws edgy DBZ style angry guys shooting eachother
>final project rolls around
>bunch of drawings of guys being executed at point blank range
Wonder what he's up to now.

So, how long does it take a beginner to learn Construction? I've already went through Keys to Drawing and Fun With a Pencil.

I'm thinking of rereading Perspective Made Easy since there's still some gaps in my knowledge about Perspective, but my main goal is to start drawing in 3D, turn my flat 2d shapes into real forms. I draw a lot of 1p and 2p Perspective boxes, and I've been doing lots of still lifes. Should I just keep at it? I've got a nice 2 month holiday and I really want to make the most of my free time.

Should I also refrain from drawing from photos, since I dunno how construct them?

Is there an archive for Deviantart pieces that have been removed, like what happens to 4chan threads?

The point of a study is to learn about something specific, you need a goal in mind. Are you studying anatomy? Values? Colors? Just paint a picture from ref and focus on that particular area you're looking to improve in, the concept is not that hard. Just be sure you're actively analyzing your picture to understand why things look the way they do instead of just blindly copying it or else that kind of defeats the purpose. A successful study isn't necessarily one where your end result looks nice, it depends on whether or not you actually learned something from the process.

did you even look at the case study? also /gd/ is probably a more suitable place for this, not that you'll get a different response or anything.

Dear /ic/,

/co/ pointed me here. I started making my first colored comic but I think I already fucked it up because of the materials I'm using. I'm using printer paper, prismacolor markers, and faber-castell pens.

The problem is that whenever prismacolor marker goes over faber-castell ink, the faber-castell ink fades and bleeds. My process now is... sketch a panel... lightly erase the panel (pencil won't erase once prismacolor marker goes over it)... apply color... apply pen outlines. Is there a better way to do this?

Love, Anon
