I am not playing to marry, ever have kids, or risk it. I am afraid of change and responsibilities because they might take away the time I have for drawing

there is no suck thing as overworking, but there is such a thing as loosing the energy of a work by adding details which take away from the previous ones

that's what usually somebody means by saying a piece has been overworked, the details added in the later stages of the work are worse in quality than the early ones

saying that a piece has been overworked has a easy solution, go back and at the next work try to limit yourself from going overboard

which is a true and a correct solution, but it's not the single one. One can learn to keep the quality levels consistent in all stages of the work, no matter how long he spends on it. That's a thing you can train for, but you won't do that by not overworking a few pieces until you get the hang of it.

So while it's true, there is such a thing as overwork. I try to avoid that word because it limits the number of options one can come up to fix the problem. And for a word which is meant to define the problem, that it's unacceptable.
