I cannot manage a Discord while simultaneously running a site, for several reasons, which include conflict of interest, time consumption and general frustration with the minute complications of it all.
I can and am, however, making improvements on the site itself for that purpose.
Previously, people were concerned with the implementation of comments on the DAD site, thinking it would kill off the DAD discord or thread activity. Clearly, that hasn't happened. I'm obviously still working on the big patch, and I think being able to communicate in a more efficient manner is important. Beyond notifications activating based on quote processing, each challenge will have it's own "thread", each user page will have it's own "thread" (or wall or shout box whatever you want to call it), and the dev center (in development) will also have discussion threads.

Note that this does not include a "forum" or "community" page. If you can just make threads on the DAD site, such a feature can and probably will kill the threads or significantly stifle their activity.
This stuff is coming; apologies, but the last three days (including this one) have not been productive at all due to significant fatigue. I can't possibly be burning out, can I? I'd hope not. I should be good to code hard tomorrow, as some plans I had were cancelled. I'm working on DAIB starting Monday.

Again, apologies if I don't respond to all of you immediately, but do know I read all the posts and messages on the threads / dad channels, including the scathing ones that think I'm not going to make it. Point is, your concerns, advice and stuff are all being listened to. Communication on this front regarding the site specifically should improve with the Dev Center rollout.

They're not sure what the leg pain is. I thought it was sciatica, but given there is absolutely no back pain they're telling me to keep an eye on it until my doctor appointment in two weeks. The chest issues may be gastrointestinal in nature, so they're looking into that.

Bottom line is, given that I haven't completed the digital will to be executed in the event of my unlikely death and I'm something of a hypochondriac, I'm not going to take any chances with letting you guys know that I've died or am in some way permanently indisposed. That sort of closure is important to me.

And in general retrospect on everything, I really, REALLY don't want to die before I implement certain things in DAD and get somewhere with my art. Expect some improvements to hit the site this weekend.

No one's banned yet simply because I haven't implemented the tribunal yet. But I'm working on it, due to the feedback from the last poll and the consistency of the topic being broached. Life is just getting in the way, a little bit. Mostly because I was coughing my guts out in the last five days.

I did make a point of saying that DAD is named "Do Art Daily" for the sake of not being exclusionary to various means of art (though the primary focus and ethos has always been visual). This includes 3d modeling, animation, sculpture, collage and MAYBE writing (you are really skirting the line if you're using this for music, game dev, aesthetic theoretical mathematics or upper-echelon cooking). To drive this point home, LAS was home to a sculptor that had a two week stint on the sight, as well as 3d modelers (we had a challenge for it, which was neat). That being said, pretty sure learning Kanji crosses that line, and then some.

There is more than enough justification for forbidding this stuff on the grounds that it takes away from the integrity of the site, but again, I'm mulling over the possibility of a mirror that's just habit-keeping stuff. I am leaning AGAINST doing that, because it represents a significant time commitment and keeping things focused on art allows the community to be much more focused and directed. It allows us to help each other more meaningfully, rather than having hundreds of people doing random shit and being unable to learn or grow as a group through community.

I'm not sure what caused the script to not run last night, but at any rate, I've run it just now and have manually adjusted what would've been broken as a result of people posting on the following day before it got a chance to run.

Still, be on the lookout for anything strange, like unawarded badges, or your score not being increased, or the site telling you your streak's safe/not safe when it shouldn't/should be. Discord is the best way for this to happen.
