Oh hey that's my post! Glad it was helpful.

To add to it around the time I shared that I had around 2000 followers and was averaging 400-600 likes per post, whith some that got close to or even over 1k.

More recently (1-2 months ago) I noticed my engagement took a huge hit, to the point where I was lucky if I got 200 likes, and less than 1k of my followers were even seeing my work.

I started using fewer hashtags (10-15 instead of 30) and avoiding the largest "promo" hasthags (#artpromote, #pencilacademy, those kind), favoring instead hashtags that more accurately fit my posts.

I also started using my stories more to try and get my followers more involved, with polls, questions, etc.

I'm now back at getting 400-600 likes per post, and that's without doing the "liking multiple posts" thing, which means I'm not forcing extra views to my profile, so if your engagement has dropped, give that a shot and see if it helps!

Also, as soon as I hit 5k followers a couple weeks ago, I saw a significant spike in new followers (pic related). From 3-5 followers a day to 25-35 by doing absolutely nothing different than what I used to. I don't know if it's because the algorithm has caught up with my recent daily posting habit, because people see 5k followers and are like "he's good enough for 5k people, I'll follow him", or because IG starts promoting accounts more when they hit 5k followers, but I thought it was interesting.
