I'm 24 and starting now.
I have a pretty similar attitude to yours. I feel like no matter how much work I put in anything, I'm still always going to be mediocre shit. I feel like I have to be good at something to get people to like me. I don't like having this mindset but its almost a fundamental part of me to think that I am inferior to everyone else.
The difference between us though is that I'm never going to stop. I'll keep doing whatever it is im doing because what else is there in life to cling to?
I've been playing league of legends for 10 years and I've pretty much never gotten better than when I started. Still play it to this day. Still get depressed over it and sadpost about it like you but I still play it.
