Do you post most of what you draw, including sketches? Or do you keep most of it to yourself and show only your best?

Sometimes I won't update at all for months, even though I am drawing in the sketchbook. I wonder if I am better off posting them online. It takes a lot of work just scanning them all though. Out of 100 pages I'd post like 10 of them.

>> No.2880520

No way, scanning takes fucking like a minute each. That would take forever. Besides most of my sketches are just me doing that, sketching, so you can't even tell what it is. Why would people want to look at that? It looks like chicken scratch anyways. I wouldn't say I post the best, but more so I post stuff I drew to post.

you draw things with the intention to post them? i just draw

>> No.2880618

i post everything i draw. if I know I am posting then i'll try harder because /ic/ is going to fuck me if I'm lazy.

If i posted only the best then every draw I have to compete with my best last day which is some random event.

i also like the idea of anons knowing that I mostly suck

lol

are you a digital artist? I would post most of what I draw too if I didn't have to scan every page

>i also like the idea of anons knowing that I mostly suck

desu I actually like that too. Air my dirty laundry so discouraged anons can see that everyone makes mistakes, and the funny trolls can tease me

I hate those "perfect sketchbook" sketchbooks

Nah, I would draw on copy paper, then when I was done for the night, I would lay them all out on the table or the floor and take a single photo and post it.

I try to mostly post everything but I keep the pornos to myself or share them anonymously since I have irl friends following me on my respective art platforms.
One day ill either have the balls to post it all, or someone will find them laying around after I die

Get comfortable with your art. Posting it is one of them. You know it's not your limit and that you'll improve, prove other people wrong and such.

I only post "works" as in, pictures I've spent a lot of time on and have put my heart into. Really those are the only things I do draw apart from sketchbook doodles, which these days amount to little more than practicing fundamentals and thumbnailing.

why not? who cares if it sucks? if you're not posting your work, you're missing out on valuable feedback.

Sketchbooks are tools one uses to make the "real" stuff. Occasionally it will serve to put up good ideas as you develope them into the forms you need, and an unused idea can still be cool and worth sharing.
