Anyone who wants to get better at painting should seriously watch this series

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nap7dwHjD9Y

Probably the best and most to-the-point tutorials about painting fundamentals I have ever watched

>it's a video series by some formally trained artist talking about meme concepts and easy to spot facts of lighting with a dash of their preferred version of color theory.

I can't stand his videos and work.
He clearly can paint well but he chooses to draw these mangled unappealing calarts characters with wonky perspective.

His ambient occlusion video is probably the most useful lesson he's made. If you want a quick and efficient lesson on color check out Mike Azevedo's instead because I've yet to see a lesson as short, applicable, and straight to the point as his - for digital at least.

He's great. He published his book on creativity for like $3, then made an audio version 'cause it was requested by like 2 people, then sold it .. again for $3.

This is fantastic OP, great rec.

Great rec too dude. Between watching this one and a few of OP's guy's videos yesterday I already think I see some improvement.

Is it worth learning color theory right now if my b/w values still stink? I guess there's no reason why I can't still learn about values and color theory at the same time.

Or at least use the shitty greyscale to color method until I get better.
