i think i found my issue with your rendering, i feel its lacking atmospheric lighting, the characters kinda look like 3d renders because of it, if u added a bit of a blueish hue to the shadows to imply that the sky is shining on them they would look way better, that or making the shadows of the body go more towards red than brown cuz they kinda look like clay, otherwise i really like your stuff
