one argument for it would be that we rarely get to know the intentions of others, but most of the times know ours, so it's a habit which kicks in even when we know the intentions of both

a second argument would be that we are the single ones stopping ourself from doing something bad, so we have the duty to judge our own thoughts before our boss back stabbing fantasies turn to reality

but argumenting this does not justifies it when we are doing it to protect us or at the detriment of others, just because we had good intention doesn't mean our actions will be judge in the same light, and just because some actions were uncalled for doesn't mean they were intentional

Lachlan, gottagitgud, 51ip, and Mariafire295- don't be afraid to go back over loose sketches with bolder lines here and there. This is called economy of line, and will really bring out the [comfy] in your work.

AnimePro, Cannon, Raelynn, you can loomis when you're ready. In the meantime, it is very important that you keep drawing! And by loomis, I really mean picking a teacher that suits you.

Agent, your inkling makes me wanna cozy up with a sketchbook and draw.

there is a difference between tracing something to clean it, and redrawing on top with the indention of making changes and drawing it more cleaner in less lines

sometimes you are required to draw something more than once until you get it somewhat right, regardless if you do it side by side or on top

You proved my point though. I thought /las/ was about making plenty of shit drawings to get good. The way you're approaching it is different from naf. Naf drew plenty of box forms on paper before even 1 shotting his line the first time in photoshop.

the point of binary brush is cleanness, as well as using as few liens as possible. it's not about being afraid of showing the rough to look clean, it's about shoving the rough to be clean

also the redrawing task is not only to clean the lines like you imply, but making conscious changes too, like moving the head a little, changing the position of the shoulder, changing the proportions of a limb, simplifying some forms, which, usually are made by redrawing

it's only for making the lines more clean you use ctrl z or eraser, which I happen to do quite little of towards the end when I am approaching something I am more happy with

anyway see pic, so that we stop assuming things and know what we are talking about (and making this smaller size, side by side, taught me I draw at a too bigger resolution for 1 pixel brush, good time spend arguing with /ic/)

Both camps try to aim for being clean (enough). With strong foundation you can tell what this is, despite it not being "clean". Clean is subjective.

you notice that both thaane and nafs work can be a little stiff, and its because there is so much adherance to good construction and forms that they tend to neglect the flat graphical "visual flow" aspects of the work that you can more readily focus on with gestural linework.

Thank you!! I've been having a lot of fun since I started this 6 days ago, I actually want to draw a lot! But it's a double edged sword, since I just want to draw and reading books isn't keeping my focus at the moment.
I'm going to go back to it really soon though, I just want to make a stable habit of drawing something I like daily because I've had a hard time doing that.

The way I see it, if you're spending a considerable amount of time creating, you're already an artist, and your success can be deduced simply from the level and range of emotion you evoke from people. The way I grew out of it is by using a small-sized hard brush + hard eraser. Then you limit yourself to draw only 1-3 strokes per line. If it's wrong, you hard-erase it completely and redo them, instead of soft-erasing them. But this is just my way personally, just find your own way to build lines more confidently and quickly.

creative work and appeal is a seperate skillset you're going to have to learn to grind, as if making finished images.
The problem is that theyre *much more intuitive and taste driven so you can't just expect to follow a scott robertson-esque book on how to make the most appealing images ever seen.
Let yourself fail by pushing yourself with (potentially arbitrary) design and narrative prompts.

you can tell the exact rightmost point of her ribs in the drawing and they're pretty much aligned with her left hand, but on almost all your drawings (the ones you use her as reference, interestingly) it's a lot further to the right
