I admire you for diving straight in with a pen, I should do that some time. If head construction seems to be a problem allow yourself to go a bit slower. I still have a long way to go with those too, but slowing down has helped me a bit. Also don't forget the tip of the ear ends under the brow visor and doesn't go over it! I wish I could keep proportions as well as you, keep it up!

I'm really digging these Vusta. I have a similar habit of getting really scribly with my lines when doing these, I think both of us would benefit if we tried going for cleaner more self-assured strokes. Drawing on bigger surfaces could really help with that, I think.

Gestures are great for capturing energy and the essence of a pose. I think a lot of yours really managed to do that. But I do think you could push it more. 1 minute is enough to define some more volume in your gestures. Even if you're not necessarily using a line of action I think you're good at capturing a sense of movement. Would love to see you spend some more time on some figures in the next two weeks. I feel your biggest problem is keeping your proportions in check, something that helped me with this (though I still mess it up constantly too) is thinking of the body in perspective and comparing different body parts to each other. For example say I am drawing a head. Look where the corner of the eye would end if I was to draw a straight line from it to say... the collar bone. Or check diagonals between the elbows and see if they look correct, sometimes you'll realise that they weren't placed correctly, and your arm is almost twice as thick as it should be. Would love to see more from you, good luck with the challenge! (I admire your dedication, your gallery's fun to go through.)

I'm currently watching Glenn Vilppu's videos on how to approach drawing spheres and figures and I think you may benefit from it too. His approach is basically thinking of how the different volumes and masses overlap and interact with each other. I can see you worked hard on these.

You and me both. Taking pictures of trad stuff to upload is such a pain in the ass. Images aren't super clear but from what I can see I think, that just like Zeke and I, you could benefit from those Vilppu courses as well. One of the main issues I see is trying to create the contour of the figure, instead of looking at the mass and volume, which makes limbs and the general proportions feel disconnected from each other. Don't be afraid to get a bit looser with your line and draw into the figure. Keep it up!

Hm, yeah and no. For the design aspect I just kinda went with it? As I drew the base of the composition I started thinking of what an interesting narrative might be. Like with the Witch's abandoned house I tried to think why was this place abandoned, what's the story behind it etc, and start building from there. I looked up references from abandoned places and took elements from different photos I liked and thought would fit what I was going for. With the perspective it was a bit of both. I knew the basic principles of perspective but never applied it because I thought I didn't get it. Analyzing what works in others' work helps a lot as well, though after the interior room thing on day 3 I didn't try to do it again. (I should.)

youre missing the entire premise of this, some of you are drawing boxes which is fine, but thats higher level construction for figures and is really bad for fast drawings. youre suppose to start off with gestures to capture the essense of the figure so its mostly using curves not straight lines or shapes, or contours for that matter. this not only allows you to get the figure down faster, but proportions aswell, then you can slowly start to build forms on top of that gesture with shapes and construction.

I honestly don't think you should be aiming for being fast. Understanding>quantity. And a box isn't "high level" construction. A 7 year year old can draw a box. Boxes have no ambiguity, but wishy/washy gestures do.

I think most people here are following things like Hampton. Hampton and his counterparts isn't about "capturing" the flow "let one be connected to the soul of your pencil and be freeeee" but just 1 part of the analysis of the figure. This challenge is a good opportunity to experiment. Try a bigger brush? Two colors? Only drawing the light? Drawing with your opposite hand? Some focus on a body part? Draw while drunk? Or whatever come to your mind.

Same issue as last time, submission id jumped from 19763 to 19795 (32 ids, which is the exact same amount as last time). So it's not random atleast, either someone's trying to get noticed or something consistently fucky is happening in banana code. At least I have a workaround for it from last time.
