Talking about RWBY, I highly recommend not to waste your time. The first season, super scrappy. They mo-capped the non-fight scenes, and only had models for the main characters, see pic. The fights are interesting enough, the way he handles the recoil of the oversized guns to position the characters during the fights is quite nice, not you're only gonna get 2 minutes of good stuff for the half hour of season 1.
Every consecutive season has been following the formula of better animation and models, and more boring and unengaging fights. The plot is primary school "group of teenagers team up to fight the evil monsters and the governments that hinder them" combined with "elemental magic". The porn is the show's saving grace, thanks to the distinct designs and rabid fanbase.
