I hope you guys know that the winds are changing everywhere on the internet, soon all surface level social media sites will ban porn and sites that actually do host it will be completely neutered or under constant threat of being taken down.

Why anybody thought it would be a good idea to pin their lifelong career on porn is beyond me.

You’re utterly retarded if you think there will not be a platform to fill the vacuum and tap into a market as insanely huge and profitable as porn, and exerting enough pressure to shut down such a singular access point would be literally impossible without creating an even bigger vacuum to be filled, this time by a payment processor, and the potential profit from it would overpower any interest in pushing an impossible agenda

Twitter’s policing problem

Twitter's policing problem
According to a federal lawsuit, Twitter took more than a month to remove widely viewed images and videos of a teen sex-trafficking victim.
AP
After permanently banning then-President Donald Trump from its platform, Twitter took only seconds to delete a defiant tweet from his official government account. Yet it’s not nearly so fleet-footed about child pornography and death threats. So can anyone buy its claims to police without bias?

>According to a federal lawsuit filed this week in California, Twitter took more than a month, refusing countless pleas along the way, to remove widely viewed images and videos of a teen sex-trafficking victim. The suit, filed by the victim and his mom, accuses Twitter of making money off the child-porn clips, which the victim says traffickers blackmailed him into making when he was 13.

>One even included a second child, yet when the clips showed up on Twitter in 2019, the company refused to remove them, saying it “didn’t find a violation” of its “policies.”

The only thing that isn't protected by sensitive media warning is profile pictures. Backgrounds don't appear anymore and if you click an NSFW profile it will warn you unless the person is a retard that posts NSFW while listing their profile as SFW so normies end up stumbling on it.

So they tried to change to a nsfw banner image? The post and Ennorei's statement say 2 different things. But Twitter tells you that nsfw isn't allowed in the profile pic or the banner, they probably have bots that look for that shit

It doesn't matter how profitable porn can be if no payment processor will actually work with it. Banks and credit card companies are essentially the moral police of online commerce. They can blacklist anyone faster than you can blink. Of course that's always been true to some extent, but the issue today is that cultural attitudes are shifting in favor of censoring sexualized content. Funnily enough, both left-wing hyper-progressives and right-wing fundamentalist christians are in perfect agreement that porn and oversexualization are huge problems. If these ideas get enough traction then a ton of online porn could basically become illegal -- there have always been laws against obscenity, and it's completely up to our culture to decide what is and isn't defined as "obscene".

uh y'know tumblr got shut down pretty easily and it was the biggest and most visited artsy site on the web, why? because google said they'll remove them from the app store if they continue to host porn

you're acting like there is some unseen balance in the background created to ensure that porn is freely hosted at least in one point of the internet. Dude it's just porn and mainstream sites are getting tired of flooding their feeds with nsfw beg drawings and furry portraits

Banks only ban extreme content for moral reasons and even then half of that is a PR move. The reason that banks and PPs struggle with allowing porn is because due to "The West"'s Evangelical moral values towards sex people who buy porn frequently chargeback those purchases. In other countries that don't have such puritan values around sex these issues don't exist.
"hyper-progressives" don't agree on sex. Progressives are firmly split into two camps, people who believe in the second wave values which cause them to hate pornography even when not an industry, and people who believe in the third wave values of porn being just another form of work and it being no more inherently exploitative than any other form of labor. There is no clean and easy way to identify who is in which camp unless they say so themselves.
I think that conservatives seem to be a lot more in agreement on porn being bad but I do think there are enclaves that don't agree with porn bans such as hardline libertarians.
>>5158446
Tumblr banned porn and then everybody jumped ship. An alternative was found, that's what the anon is saying will happen.
>>5158070
It's two different groups of people saying different things. One side says that all porn is morally bad for X reason and the other side is saying that OnlyFans can be empowering in that it lets people craft how the public sees their sexuality. The former side hates onlyfans, the latter side is desperately trying to figure out how to unfuck the situation with the banks.
