After a moment, I started to hear more noise, so I knew that things must have picked up steam in the time I'd been dealing with Futo and Kogasa. I wondered how long it was to midnight. It couldn't have been long, since I felt like the Taoist and the tsukumogami had taken a while to deal with, even though both had probably been fairly quick. As I got to the end of the veranda and reached the backyard proper, I paused.

Something was coming at me. Fast. I barely had time to cry out before something reddish launched into me hard enough to send me rocketing backward, where I bounced, rolled, and finally slammed into the ground on the veranda. For a moment, all I could do was wheeze and cough. This was all starting to seem like a practical joke, and I had a feeling that I would have some complaints to raise with the Yama when I eventually died from...I don't know, a comically large fish falling on me.

"Oof..." I heard a pained groan from somewhere near me. An annoying familiar pained groan. Ki... "Eep! Hey - Um, don't be mad, alright?" I was finding that very difficult, I growled as I dragged myself up to me knees. Ki had landed on her side, and as I glared at her, she pulled herself up onto her hands and knees before getting to her feet, where she stretched her back as far as she could, then gasped happily as it clicked a few times. I tried to ignore the way Raki's tabard managed to hang straight downward without touching any other part of her body as she did it. "Ooh, that was rough! Not in a bad way though. Bracing!" She said cheerfully, turning to me and slapping me on the back. Her breath smelled like sake. I sharply asked her how much she'd had to drink as I continued to try and breath in and out deeply. "Huh? Er...Not much? I think? I keep just winding up with more drinks, so...I don't know, really. I think Komachi's a bigger drinker than me." She did look a little tipsy.

We staggered back toward the party, and my breathing finally began to normalise. Once we were back, I got a better look at what was going on. Things seemed to have begun descending into insanity. The group of fairies I'd seen earlier were now balancing on each other's shoulders and had formed a tower tall enough that Miss Yuuka, who I hadn't even realised was here, stood at equal height to the red, white and blue fairy, who was pointing her torch in front of her like a weapon. Miss Yuuka was staring at it, her face impassive and her arms crossed. Remembering Youmu's reaction, I swallowed nervously, but suddenly she broke into raucous laughter before reaching out and grabbing the top fairy in what looked like a bone-crushing hug. I could only hope that things were okay over there.

Speaking of Youmu, she'd woken up, but had clearly drunk a little too much, because I could see her practically rocketing about the place. At one point, she crashed into Marisa's back, sending the magician to the ground. This prompted Marisa to jump back up, turn, and wrap her arms around Youmu before spinning on her foot and jumping, then slamming Youmu into the ground on her back. It didn't seem to deter the half-phantom much. I wondered if she'd just run out of energy and collapse at some point. Reimu, I couldn't see. I wondered where exactly she'd gotten to. Remilia was gone too, but I had a feeling that she was probably still fussing over Sakuya. I could see Miss Narumi chatting to Kagerou, over at the edge of the grounds. She seemed to be talking animatedly about something, and I saw her indicating her hat and her grey overcoat at one point. Kagerou looked fairly interested in the conversation too, which was nice. It pleased me to see Miss Narumi happy, since I still felt a little guilty for not telling her I hadn't died, just like with Keine.

Lady Kasen was looking in our direction, her usual sake box in her hand. She'd been talking to a tall looking girl with long brown hair and a black and white checkered scarf, with some sort of leaf-like accessory on her head. I thought she was wearing glasses, but the pair were just far enough away that I couldn't quite tell. Raki, I couldn't see. When she saw that I was looking, Lady Kasen waved her bandaged hand, and I waved back with all the energy of Chiyari Tenkajin, the girl who might have still been living in my house. Given the painful hit I'd just taken, I was surprised I even had that much energy. I saw the other girl take in a long drag of a large pipe that she was smoking and breathe it out into the night sky.
