I'm aware of this, but doing 35 right off the bat would be extremely hard for new, inspiring artists. I mean, heck, even I'm struggling through the 25 ones; I can't begin to imagine how I'd do on the 35 one.

Not realism, rather, practice and confident. Practice and confident lines is what makes a drawing a work of art. Anime style is not about realism to begin with, but instead a semi-asbtract/reduced representation of realism. Learning realism is always welcomed, of course.

Woah woah, pretty much what you're saying "anime style" isn't art? Let me guess, you think American cartoons (Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, etc etc) ain't art? You think political cartoons ain't art? Anime, as we so call it, is simply Japanese's cartoon. If you don't think it's art, you have no idea what is art.

What do you mean kill the spirit of freedom? It's their preference of style. If the artist likes abstracts, they'll draw abstract. If the artist likes political cartoons, they'll draw political cartoons. And of course, if the artist likes anime, they'll draw in anime style. Is that so hard to understand? Anime is NOT the only art style in Japan and no one is forcing you to draw that way. If you like to argue more, take it back to /ic/ please.
