As for Flowering Night, I just like how the drums are handled. An odd compliment, I know, but it's one of the very few times where the percussion sections actually add something rather than just exist. It's the only version of the song I like, and I never liked any remix I have heard. I have similar feelings for remixes of Locked Girl ~ The Girl's Secret Room.

I wasn't sure where to place the Aya music because DS is good but StB is right in the middle of the shift from the style used in IN and PoFV to MoF.

IN is just exhausting to listen to. 21 songs, and most of them have blasting horns. It still has it's moments, like Illusionary Night ~ Ghostly Eyes, Stirring an Autumn Moon ~ Mooned Insect, Retribution for the Eternal Night ~ Imperishable Night, Lunatic Eyes ~ Invisible Full Moon, and Voyage 1969/1970. Most of the other tracks have obnoxious-as-fuck horns or are just seemingly endless piano wankery sessions.

PoFV doesn't have the piano solos as bad, but the horns are at their worst in the series, and many other "alternative" versions are flat-out lazy. Aside from Adventure of the Lovestruck Tomboy, Oriental Dark Fight, and Flowering Night, it doesn't have anything spectacular to offer.

STRONGLY agreed. That is why MILD⇔ is the superior album. No less diverse, but much more digestable with 12 tracks and clocking in at almost a half an hour shorter than VoW.

Inaba of the Moon and Inaba of the Earth is a slice-of-life series, as well as Strange and Bright Nature Deity and it's predecessor Eastern and Little Nature Deity. They are complied of various hijinks. SSiB has a story from start to finish, so it should at least try to have decent pacing.

Watatsuki no Yorihime agreed to a danmaku battle, but still used a weapon throughout all of the fights. She lost the noble duel (well, as noble as any sport in the land of fancy hats) even with her summoning of the Gods and her weapon and got super buttmad and threatened to slash Reimu's head clean off if she didn't surrender because MOON BITCHES CAN LOSE DERP.

Plus, we don't know what Reimu was doing on the moon for an extended period of time while everyone else was put back on Earth, robbing us what could have been the only dozen or so pages that weren't irritating or come-inducing.

Yes, my feathers are ruffled. I thought Eastern and Little Nature Deity was bad, but at least we got the superior Strange and Bright Nature Deity out of it. SSiB is Koge Donbo-tier and we never got an apology for it.
