It's an intense, sweaty, 90 minutes especially if you're up front or in the pit and/or had a bit to drink.

Some people up front can't deal with the constant literal pressure and will either move back & to the sides or have security lift them out so they can get around back through there. Some people get exhausted in the moshpit after a couple of songs, some people might get claustrophobic, etc.

So yeah most people are constantly moving around.

>I don't want to be a cunt, so it sounds like I should queue up really early

Don't worry about it.

Even IF you do wait 6 hours and be one of the first ones in, it's still not a guaranteed chest-on-gate spot. You'll likely want to browse the merch, walk around the venue to see where the washrooms are, maybe get something to drink/eat. Most people who are in the front-ish of the queue will be doing that. Some people will be doing like cartweels around the empty floor, some people will just hang out with their friends that they came with, etc.

>Or would that be weird? Does everyone who queues early buddy up?

As long as you're not like, staring everyone down with eyes full of hate it shouldn't be a problem. Some people go to concerts with groups of like 6 people, some people go with just one friend, lots of people go alone. Just be like "hey, can you save my spot while I go to McDonalds for a minute? I'll save yours if you need to do the same"

>Also, can I just throw my wrappings and empty bottles on the floor?

While you're waiting? There should be garbage bins on the street or the sides of buildings.

>A concert is 90 minutes, right? Do people really circle out during that short time?

Can you rephrase that? I'm not sure what you mean.

There are no "spots" at open-floor metal shows, Western or Japanese.

I gotta say that

> you can shove your way through the back of the crowd

was the wrong choice of words, more like "squeeze your way through". People in the back will know that you want to go into the moshpit, or assume that you're looking for a lost friend or something.

Likewise, people who stand in the front will inevitably get tired and move out to get some water and use the washroom or something, someone else takes their place. Circle of life.

Oh and in the moshpit, just shove people off of you as they bump into you, don't try to knock them down the floor. If someone does fall down, help them up immediately. Don't be throwing your fists and elbows around like they do at metalcore shows. If you're on the outside perimeter of the circle, feel free to shove people who bump into or high-five them or whatever but if you see that someone wants out, let them through.

what else... if you're totally in front of the stage, prepare to be squished by dozens and dozens of people for pretty much the whole show except for between songs. Sometimes the security staff will give out water bottles those who are really tripping balls, but you're better off buying your own before the show starts.

Expect to be a sweaty mess after all that, so dress lightly. Unless you take it easy and chill in the back and the side of the crowd where there's no moshpit or crowdsurfing or anything like that. You should still run in the moshpit for one or two songs.

>How long before the concert should I be there?

However long you feel like.

I'd recommend that you show up like an hour or 30 minutes before the doors open, considering how getting into the actual concert can easily take 15 minutes of slowly moving the line forward. Especially if you plan on buying merchandise. If you buy a shirt, wear it on yourself. Don't tie it around your waist or anything.

>What should I bring? Food? Drink?

Just cell phone, keys & wallet really. Typically those places don't allow any outside food or drink and will sell their own inside. There might be some restaurants next door or nearby as well.

>Can I go to the toilet or do I have to be iron if I queue up 6 hours before?

If you plan on doing that (which I don't really recommend) then make friends with the people ahead of you and behind you, especially since you're going to keep each other company for that long. They can save your space and you can save theirs.

The reason I don't recommend waiting in line for that long is because it's an open floor concert. During the first minute of the first song you can shove your way through the back of the crowd, into the moshpit, and up to the front, very easily. It's expected even. A lot of people will want to stay in the back away from the scary moshpit and some will have seats on balconies. On the floor it's pretty much a free-for-all as long as you don't intentionally shove people down outside of the moshpit just to get closer to your waifu.

>Other things I need to know but don't know to ask about?

If you're in front of the moshpit, closer to the stage, keep some eyes in the back of your head for crowdsurfers. Grab whatever body part you can and just shove them towards the gate where security is. If you're a big guy, some little girl might ask you to lift her up to crowdsurf, that's up to you if you want to.

Can't seem to find it anymore, but there was random video of someone filming the girls & the interpretor at a random shopping mall from behind as they quickly power-walked away from him, so not likely :(.

And this was before they had the entourage of seven Kobas.

I like that pic because she's got her eyes closed and is fully immersed in the moment :3

Speaking of pictures, why is it so hard to find pictures of Moa being smug?

She's either smiling normally, or making a silly face, and that's it but I need that smugness in my life.
