Fun fact: one of the composers for CMIYC and Headbanger also wrote the OP for the Prison School Anime.

Because we start sentences with a capital letter and them with a period or excalmation/question mark, like any normal person would when writing?

It's not like I'm Stephen King writing novels here, I'm not even a greentexter.

That just proves that Maestro lurks /jp/, there's quite a few redditors that are obvious /jp posters/lurkers and jp posters that are redditors.

He's handling Babymetal still in an idol way, from a media/business perspective. Idols have a controlled and projected image of being young and naive and innocent and playful, and Babymetal's image is that of being leaders of the Metal Resistance and messengers for the Fox God. You can take the idols out of the idol business but you can't take the idol business out of the idols' manager and record label.

Anarchism and punk go hand-in-hand, but I'm willing to bet that the average squatter has never read any Chomsky or Kropotkin, and really only got his worldview from CD booklets. Their version of Anarchism is really just "let's throw rock at the problem".

And for a while there were some shenanigans in Nordic countries with churches being burned down that were done by some members of the local Black metal scene, but it was literally just a handful of people.

Yes.

Which tracks on the Budokan or the London BD/CD have the vocals drowned out?

>but they were remastered and filtered through autotune magic

Okay then show me potato-cam youtube videos.

The only thing that ever gets drowned out is BOH's bass solo, the vocals are clear as day since they're the main attraction.

It might be because they're playing metal-fusion music, and that attracts metal fans. That is their doing, is it not?

>bm are mainly metal in sound only

That's the only bit that matters as well.

The metal culture isn't nowhere near as defined or important as the punk culture. Metalheads don't drop out of school and run away from home to move into an abandoned building and live with other metalheads that wipe car windshields for a few dollars and then show up at protests to throw rocks at cops. With punk the culture is the main focus whereas with metal the culture is completely ancillary and not really definable besides just the aesthetics and fashion.

More importantly, Babymetal aren't pretending to not be a pop/idol-metal fusion act. What you see is what you get.

Because that's the umbrella description of metal as a whole

Like the other anon said
>>14024882

once you go up the sub-genre tree it does get more varied in sound and lyrical content. Jazz & latin-fusion, rap metal, electronicore, folk metal, power metal, pirate metal, babymetal, etc.

It's not ALL brutality and grimdark, but generally it is. Babymetal even have a couple of songs that are brutal/grimdark.

Punk was a response to the socio-economic turmoil of the cold war and everything else in the 70s, as well as a counter-point to how hippies and beatniks never fixed anything in the 60s.

The principles of punk, although they're not written in stone, were loosely "DIY" and "be at least vaguely anti-authoritarian".

There isn't anything like that in Metal. You could sign to a rap record label and a major corporate distributor and no one would blink an eye, that's actually what Slayer did.

>>14025999
>it tries to be totally brutal and dark

and it does those things through its music.

>in sound they've always been at least 50% metal though usually more

and yet you're talking about "drips" of metal.

Metal isn't a principle, it's a music genre.

>the drips of real rum

Nice meme. Their producers and songwriters are from a metal & rock bakground, their live band are all from metal & rock backgrounds.

You're telling me that songs like Babymetal Death and Akumu No Rondo are 99.99% pop.

>has had a few drops of rum
>artificial rum flavouring
>only a couple drips of real rum

Come on. They're at times heavier than Slipknot. Not to mention that the people involved in the live band and the songwriters are absolutely real metal/rock/punk.

How can you say that what they're doing is fake or artificial metal? Music is music.

If they were still making songs like Doki Doki Morning, you would be right, but they're way past that and have been for years.

I checked out one of their videos and yeah they're pretty good. Metal without trying to be grimdark and brutal, and apparently there's a connection through BOH

I like the analogy of "rum & coke". It's not as manly or brutal as a straight shot of hard alcohol, but mixing coke with rum doesn't make it a non-alcoholic drink.

Metal is essentially Testosterone and Anxiety: The Soundtrack.

It's music meant for people who are angry and anxious and "rebellious", it tries to be totally brutal and dark, it's not something that you can dance to and it's not generally "fun" in the understood sense of that term.

The girls have every reason to be happy and they love to dance, so they're as far removed from the average fan as possible. Also, they're girls. The overhwelming majority of metal fans are guys and the few girls tend to be "one of the boys" and psychological wrecks if not "going through a phase".

>>14023178
>dubstep becoming popular recently even if it is pretty obnoxious.

It's a (relatively) new genre that can be danced to and has plenty of variety to its subgenres. Were you thinking of the typical "omg dude that drop was so siiiiick" brostep?
