Weather can be a very big advantage. Snow can be good for raping their spellcards, the one weather that punishes incorrect guarding with an instant guard break is also very useful for some characters.. Super Armor and No Melee are obvious advantages for some, of course.

I can almost kind of stand up to Magister's raymoo, and I'm getting much better at it. It's usually that OMNIDIRECTIONAL DEMON BINDING CIRCLE that rapes me in the ass.

Due to Komachi's ridiculously large 2a range in air, it's very easy to end up going just behind the person as it starts up, making it almost impossible for them to block. That, and it's great at catching people if they try to dash under, obviously.

Kinda feels cheap to me, but it's the best way I've found to play Komachi that doesn't involve running away, something I hate doing in any game.

Not when it's Komachi it isn't. Good combos will still mostly hit, whereas even the most basic of her combos will stop at the first or second hit. You're a sitting duck during super armor as Komachi, your best bet is to run like hell and retaliate when you're absolutely sure it's safe.
