Sup guys. I'm a Eurofag med student and i'm very interested in doing a medical residency somewhere else. I know all about my options in Europe and America but i was wondering about the East, particularly Japan or South Korea.

I assume that my local embassies can tell me about what i need to get a residency there, but what they cant tell me is about life there, society, accepting foreigners, etc.

To be honest, the east would be my first choice but i've heard so many things about them not being open to foreigners, being very closed and focused too much on working, etc.

Why are there no Corean characters in Jap anime/manga/VN/games etc. when there are plenty of Chinese, American, Russian, British, German characters?
I mean Corea is right next door and there's a sizable population of coreans in nippon, so it's not like they aren't aware of them. Why, then? Racism?
