So are the books supposed to be about Japan or writing about Japanese authors or just books?

Anyway this is a list of all the jp related books I've read read. ( That I can think of )

The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yōko Ogawa. An easy comfy book that's good but not great.
Welcome to the N.H.K. by Tatsuhiko Takimoto. It's surprisingly funny and has a fair share of drugs. ( have not seen the Anime or read the manga )
Haruki Murakami
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. Great
Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. Good
Kafka on the Shore. Easily the worst of the three but other people seem to like it.
Almost Transparent Blue by Ryū Murakami. I've read my fair share about drugs and decadence and this one is close to the bottom.
Battle Royale by Koushun Takami. I liked the book a lot when I read it, but I was younger I'm not sure how it would be today. It's a book for teenagers which one need to keep in mind.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya by Nagaru Tanigawa. The pacing and writing is made for teenagers and it shows and is so annoying to read for me. Just ruins the whole experience but if you're young and haven't read much you might like it.

The only people think it does are those who haven't read it or decide that it does before reading it. I guess there might also be a group of plain stupid people who just don't understand the book.
