the corpus it's based on seems to be (far) larger than the vn and narou frequency lists so it ought to be generally more reliable, especially for rarer words

Anyone here read Clannad in Japanese? Just wondering how you would rate it, difficulty wise.

I read some of the English version years ago now when I knew absolutely nothing about visual novels (think that was my first one, actually), and ended up giving up after getting a bad end.
