Here's a fucking comedy for you, the japanese had no word to explicitly describe the act of sexual intercourse before they picked up sex as a loan word. They always referred to it by some other terms and frequently it would involve homonyms and metaphor, this is why "misunderstandings" are so big in japanese media, cause they really can misunderstand drastically if it's not explicitly "sekkusu"
