I know that Ran and Chen are technically the shikigami and not the fox/cat, but, realistically, do shikigami even overwrite your personality? Chen explicitly isn't changed at all because of the possession, and it just compels her to follow orders to make her strong.

Is Ran the same way? Is it just effectively a compulsion to follow orders so Yukari keeps feeding her magic power?
